The way I see it is we have four top six players and two middle six players then a bunch of trash. There’s a lot of work that needs to be done to be competitive.

After we re-sign Reinhart and Montour (ugh) we really don’t have the cap space that it’s made out we have. I would trade Montour for that in a heartbeat. I’m not convinced he’ll get a better contract than Risto not that he’s a better player than Risto. Probably would trade either though.

Anyone who wants Sam below $8m should have been clamoring for an extension when the rest of us were. Anything less than 8x8 will be fortunate.
