  1. So the combine is May 28th. How much time does our new gm need to be ready for that? Does that influence the speed of TPegs decision? Does TPegs realize he is hosting the combine?
  2. We all have our crosses to bear.
  3. Nope. Keep all your assets. You won't get anything remotely equal in value. Someone will pop loose. He won't be a top four. Teams don't give those up.
  4. We are being trolled.
  5. If he was legit his name would be Tarosays
  6. I laughed.
  7. I will agree to disagree. On homegrown programming they have a distinct Canadian bias and spend a great amount of time promoting and featuring players in markets that would not be able to view the programming. The rebroadcast of HNIC and other dailies just compounds this. They do a great job with On The Fly though.
  8. It is not a lateral move though. POHO would be a different level of vision. I don't think Shanahan looked at it as a second fiddle position.
  9. I like the succession idea. Let him pull the pieces together, navigate the draft and expansion, get a coach in place and succeed to POHO in a year or two when a new gm is named. We could benefit from a guy with status league wide when it comes to trades. And to be fair, all successful cup winning teams eventually pay the price on a bad contract or 2. Chicago is there now and Pittsburgh will be there soon. Tampa got really lucky but is still not out of the woods. Cross that bridge when we come to it. On the plus side, we have decisions to make roster wise and he or any new gm isn't wedded to TMs guys. I trust Lombardi to make a fair assessment and be able to deal our way out of some of our issues. In my dream world, I would like to see him hire a Fenton Boteril Brisebois in year 2 and hire Knoblaugh in Rochester to help turn them around. But as I said only a dream.
  10. And I wonder how much of that sources statement sounded like " if I were Jack I wouldn't want to sign long term if Bylsma was the coach?" I have no reason to trust Hamilton.
  11. Huh...and I thought it was just a tough market for a BA in Indonesian Studies. Kidding. Congratulations and good luck!
  12. 8lb 9 oz baby Jesus!!!!
  13. What a freaking bounce
  14. Does Washington even care about this game? They are skating like it's December.
  15. Ray Ferraro must have been magna laudae at the Pierre Maguire School of Sports Broadcasting. Man is he annoying.
  16. I will disagree the kid is really good.
  17. McDavid, Crosby, Karlson, Burns, Kane, Lundquist....hard to imagine it isn't age biased. Thus, McDavid, Matthews, Nylander, Marner, Laine, Werenski Jack as the best under 20 or some such thing. Either way, it is a meaningless exercise. Time will tell us who are the best.
  18. But I take the "rankings" with a grain of salt. Imagine how many clicks they would drive to tsn or sports net if they ranked Jack above their beloved leafs?
  19. NHLN is nothing but a shill for Canadian hockey. It goes to great lengths to promote TO interests and all things Canada.
  20. Bettman will do everything in his power to have a Crosby/ McDavid or Edm/Tor final. Rogers must be served.
  21. Botteril is also a possibility.
  22. I find this thread humorous. There was significant fury on this board to change the coach because the style wasn't working. The owner flushes everything because in his mind the whole thing wasn't working. Now we want the new guy to come in and continue what the owner perceives as not working? I don't think that is how it works. The new guy will evaluate the talent based on the vision he sells to TPegs. If it is not here to execute the vision he will go and get it and I think only Jack and the nmc contracts are safe.
  23. Nice story, but I still want to know how you got the picture of my wife for your avatar? ;)
  24. I was asking myself that yesterday. I think the price tag will be steep.
  25. And I have to share this. With the exception of hockey McDavid is the worst athlete on the planet. The Otters wouldn't let him do the pre game soccer kick because he couldn't he would punt the ball into the rafters or drill it off a teammates head. It was said in fun, but one story was about a golf outing where he was told to just drive the cart so no one got hurt. Seems he was put here to do one thing ridiculously well. Jack, they said is the opposite. If he loved say baseball more than hockey he would be in the major leagues. Great athlete and self driven.
