Tough to trade down in the NHL draft as is much less in a draft where consensus says that the picks from 10 to 40 are not separated by much. A 5th or sixth rounder isn't likely to move the needle for a gm to move down. We will pick where we land, and I don’t think we are trading it.

First I do not think we will be picking at 2. Among the D prospects he is my first choice even though others may appear more "NHL ready" though I don't know what that means. At 2 Hischier is my pick, or even at 1. I think he is a more dynamic player. After 2 though, I don't see much more than stylistic variations. Middlestedt is another dynamic player with size and touch that I think fits with the current group.

What if no one in the room is left after the new guy takes over. There seems to be an assumption that everyone stays. I'd be surprised if that were the case. Firing Murray indicts the plan and all those associated therewith. Again, I hope TP isn't down playing the need to have a hockey guy in charge and expecting a group approach going forward. We'll see.

Here is the problem the way TPegs is thinking: As Toro pointed out the next big thing on Terry's agenda ks the draft and its photo ops. Meanwhe the Sabres are essentially dormant. A POHO would insure that someone is manning the helm at all times. I could care less who the Bills draft, but I do care who the Sabres draft. Right now those things are simply idling. If he doesn't see that the Sabres and Bills run concurrently and not sequentially, then both teams are in more trouble thanI thought. And this isn't just the current times. Yes more unusual than most with expansion, but assistants get other jobs the Amerks need attention and cap and fa are a year round activity. I hope he sees that he can't be in two places at once and decides that POHO is the way to go. Then pick a hockey guy he can work with and trust and let them run with it. Toros point about the draft set me off. If TPegs wasn't scouting QBs he ciuld have lowered the boom 2 weeks ago and maybe we would have our gm in Europe trying to sign Antipin instead of a scout.
