Yes you can. And just because you are out there doesn't mean you are in peak condition. It isn't a question of being "in" shape it is a matter of being in peak condition. Buff is heavy and can dominate physically. With his talent he would be in the Karlson converstion if he maximized his conditioning. The emphasis on losing weight would increase his effectiveness during that league leading TOI.
