  1. Standing next to Fasching and Bailey, yeah. Pu looked like a player who hasn't played in the AHL yet, so I wouldn't say he looked better.
  2. Count on it.
  3. Stay safe. You JJ and all SSers down there. I find when we breathe a sigh of relief because mother nature takes pity, she throws a curve or our best defenses fail. A levee breaks, or the storm dumps a 1000 year rainfall.
  4. It's free. I am sure it would look awesome at 10 bucks a game. ;)
  5. I am trying to view analytics more neutrally, but I have yet to see where the are predictive. I often see a disdain for counting stats but ultimately that is how teams are judged, I.e.do you have more or less goals than the other team at the end of specified time. And as far as individuals in a team game, there appears to be "program" bias. Everyone raved about Babcock's usage of the young Leaves. But that discounts the fact that he essentially threw defense out the window. With that one would expect them all to have better possession and offensive driver numbers but the eye could see they weren't even trying to defend most times. So I think context is very important in viewing pure analytical data. The giving up the blue line in Risto's case was what I would call the organizational approach. But he also looked lost at times in his own end and the eye didn't see the creative puck movement of a Werenski or McAvoy.
  6. Not much to talk about. Fasching, but he is a somewhat known quantity.
  7. In the first period I noticed a bit of DD hangover or residue. A lot of looking around to see if they were in the right place. A lack of pure centers might have contributed to that, but as the game went on they started to play more instinctively.
  8. PS; let's set judgement day for after you finish school. Might be just enough time for a fair assessment. Actually if used properly I can. I am not quick to bail on top 10 picks. There is a reason they were so highly regarded.
  9. Set a time frame and name you charity. There are subtle things he does that are sublime. He needs the right environment that fosters a belief in his abilities. As to the second thank you. Your opinion is valued.
  10. That mohawk he is sportin is straight outta Charlottesville.
  11. I took away that Jack in rookie year and Sam in his 2nd were so far ahead of anyone out there tonight. We forget how good both are even if they majically haven't storked a cup on the city. Nylander is an elite talent that will be as good or better than his brother. Not just yet. Bailey is a career AHLer. No instinct for the flow of a game. He is physically superior to just about everyone out there and it just doesn't process fast enough. Better more creative players need similar types of players to allow their skills to shine. There weren't enough on our side to make individual assessments. Guhle will be a solid NHLer but maybe not a 1 or 2. But he can skate. Asplund and Casey tilt the ice in our favor. Hockey is back, at last.
  12. Our d can't keep the puck in w/o any pressure. Yeesh.
  13. I would take his performance in this tourney with a grain of salt. At center, not his projected position, is a bit odd. But it could be an opportunity to see his IQ in action as well as his defensive awareness.
  14. I am hoping he is in the top 6 by Thanksgiving.
  15. The eye test from watching him 20 or so times a year for the past several years is that he can be a positive contributor in a sheltered role, which is what the Wild did. However, his speed has deteriorated and I would think he becomes a liability if put in a position where speed is required.
  16. I'm ready to be regular.
  17. But his situation is illuminating in light of Jack's. Holmgren and the Flyers were on the verge of offering him a sheet. Yzerman told the league it doesn't matter we will match any offer. Stamkos agent used that to leverage his deal. The idea being discussed up thread that Jack has no leverage would seem not to be accurate.
  18. Correct of the 6 you named one was not extended prior to his contract expiring.
  19. I think we are talking over each other. They all were extended before their ELCs expired like McDavid this year. Therefore none were eligible to be offer sheeted. They signed before they were eligible to be offer sheeted, if that is a term. The point being made up thread is that if Jack goes the year without signing he can be offer sheeted as a player not under contract.
  20. Look at the signing dates. They were all extended before they became unsigned RFA's. You can;t offer sheet a player under contract. Their contract must expire and still be under team control. Each were signed the year before their ELC was to expire. Kane and Toews were bridged. Sort of. But none of them went to a point where they were RFA's under an expired contract.
  21. no a match is for the exact terms of the offer sheet. Term is one of the conditions. You can't add.
  22. all were resigned before being eligible to be offer sheeted.
  23. Ryan O"Reilly Davis Backes Ryan Kesler Niklas Hjalmarsson
  24. Preach.
  25. McDavid money. Same deal. VGK get their Perreault build a following and in 4 years compete for a cup. We match of course because you don't let an Eichel, walk and it renders all the he is worth x or not worth x mute. Or perish the thought, he comes out of the gates on fire and puts up ppg+ for 30 games and McJesus and Matthews fall off. We end up paying him Mc Jesus money. GM Bobblehead better believe in Middlestadt because that is a helluva gambit.
