  2. The Caps are again showing why you build down the middle.
  3. Good thread. Thanks Eleven.
  4. Chicago drafted and stashed a lot of players in the NCAA. Rockford is loaded and they just nabbed one of the best college fa. To quote Lgr Chicago will be fine. They win a cup this year they will purge the roster and make room for farmhands. This is exactly what I hope GMTM is building.
  5. Strome with a rocket!

    5 Centers

Barring an epidemic of injuries Ennis' days as a center are over.
  7. Why should he "give" us McDavid? What the numbers say is that we will watch regardless of whether the product is good or not. He would be better off putting him in a bigger market with worse ratings to improve the ad value of broadcasts. Assuming of course you believe he can fix anything.
  8. No it isn't it is uh, well um...nice avatar btw, spent many a late night at the one on Harlem Road in WS. UH OH I just typed Harlem. No offense.
  9. In...I think?
  10. Smart drafting implies creating the best chance that your selections make it to the show. The best way to do that is to draft near the top. Check. Traded for top line scoring punch and physicality on d. Check. Bring in a good coach to get the best production not effort out of players acquired. Check. He does have shifty eyes. Ill give you that.
  11. I don't think so. The refrain of if I am cooking the dinner, i should shop for the groceries doesn't apply in Murray's case. He is a professional shopper. Tell him what you want to make and he will go out and get good ingredients. Provided you are cooking wholesome Canadian fare and not that new age vegan shyte.

  13. Off topic but Baptiste was in Domi's sweater all night. Nice two way game.
  14. Jack Hoff co winners TN and Dave Tippett The Buddy ( not sure I get the criteria) Brian Gionta Rocket Richart. Shane Doan Sulky. I got nothin Sieve Fasth Fart Ross Cy Hdsn Quincy Darcy Regier the destruction he wrought spanned two franchises and served as a foundation of the CHL.
  15. As stated earlier, JMHO.
  16. A well thought out plan. We didn't need the Defensive Genius of Rex. We needed a leader like a Fox or Carrol or Ariens. Some idea on how to out score NE not simply limit how much they score. Ground and pound? Give me a break. We may have a QB or we may not, but I don't think we will ever know with Ryan at the helm. And they are not too splashy. Just the opposite. Wash rinse repeat with another big mouthed loser. I will watch with detached interest, no more emotional investment. I do hope for family and friends that live and die with the team that they are rewarded. I for one am done writing checks financially or emotionally. I showered. I am ready for the lottery.
  17. I despise Ryan. But I also despise that they allow him to do anything other than scheme defenses. John Fox and others were out there and they went with a pos without equal. I also think the Pegs missed on Whaley. I get the sense they threw a leash on him and turned the keys over to Ryan. A rush to make a splash. They needed someone to develop a QB either one on the roster or one they acquire. Rex has never developed anyone QB or otherwise. JMHO, and after 25 years of season tickets in absentia I am entitled.
  18. Don't forget Kane Bogosian, Gionta, Deslauriers, and Gorges. True he also signed Mess and Balls, but in hindsight that is looking like pure brilliance.
  19. Nope. Beggars can't be choosers. We weren't beggars and they settled for one of the biggest pos in the nfl imo.
  20. Agreed, I just like to keep the two roles separate.
  21. Would you let the coach choose Marner over say Eichel? Two different types of players. My point is that if the GM has an eye for talent and can give the coach a stable of horses, it is up to the coach to figure out how to use them most effectively. It could be scheme, combinations, teaching whatever, that is what great coaches do imho
  22. I am on the other side. I think coaches are too focused the day to day to be the primary decision maker. In a situation, for example the Myers trade, where it really impacts the chemistry of the team then yeah I want to know what the coach thinks. But that might not be applicable this year when the tear down was coming to an end. Going forward I think it applies.
  23. Which one, the players wanted him gone or the players weren't solely responsible for 30th or both?
  24. "I had a very long talk with him this morning about a lot of things". Risto is a much more mature player but needs to work. Zadorov is not where Risto is. Put it in GMTM speak and you get the picture.
  25. I am not questioning your veracity but rather my hearing. He said the players wanted Nolan gone? Or the 30th place finish wasn't all on the players?
