  1. Not only that but he hit him on the side. It wasn't on the numbers.
  2. He has been a star tonight. Yes he is slow but he has played great tonight
  3. Franson having a career game
  4. +1. I dont know if he is bait at the deadline. He is playing well
  5. Callaway and Beerme (?), and others have said they think this is a playoff team, but for the goaltending and they do not want wait for Lehner to adjust or heal, they want a starter and a playoff run. Numerous others are expressing opinions of similar ilk. I did not know there was a hyperbole police. Thank you for your service.
  6. You haven't been following the "trade for Anderson" discussion in the other thread. The "need" for GMTM to trade for a goalie is apparently reaching epic proportions.
  7. Most people here want to trade our first round pick in 2016 (a high probability of a top 5 pick) for a rental goalie.

  9. That was 5 years ago with much younger legs. Jack is much faster than Tavares. I get your point but time waits for no one.
  10. This. I watched the Oil and Habs last night and you notice both teams do the same thing well. Their cycles and offensive system is designed to force the defenders to move and they have players looking for open spots. The sabres tend to grind on the wall and play on the perimeter. Kane and Ennis will help but a true finisher with wheels to keep up with the playmaker is a necessity. Matty is a great finisher and I would like to see if he and Jack could click, but I dont think he has the wheels. If the finisher is lagging behind, you are essentially attacking with 2 guys. I think you might see Jack Samson and Kane when he returns. Notable exception last night was ROR and Legwand who both push to the middle.
  11. Another advantage is that it creates space between him and the puck. The defender has to be cautious in not playing one or the other too closely allowing Jack to use his speed to blow by. The downside isnwhen space tightens or the puck is tighter to your body, it takes more effort and time to move the stick to a position where you can control the puck and shoot. More exposed stick is easier to defend in tight. Also a shorter stick should reduce the urge to reach instead of taking the extra stride to get to a puck or man. JMHO. I am 6 7 and use a short stick. It forces me to maintain the most athletic posture while skating and shooting.
  12. I have seen areas he needs to improve on including considering a shorter stick. He is incredibly talented, but at this level he will not get the space he has been used to.
  13. Because if you can't see him winning puck battles, always getting high on the back check and not just chipping the puck but controlling in the ozone, then you just aren't paying attention. Jack has to learn to push for the inner ice. He is getting pushed wide and staying there. He will be much more effective if he is between the circles. He will learn this.
  14. Except save the game in ot on Tuesday.
  15. Jack just shoved Hornquist outta the way and Hornquist is a big lad
  16. The play on Kessel is Gorges ceiling. If he can do that more often than not we shouldn't expect much more.
  17. So the boys calling him snatcher or feelsies?
  18. Didn't we draft Jerry Fukk?
  19. Lower body per NHL Network
  20. Fixed. But I think this is Sick's point. If you like the trade, the pick isn't valuable because low first rounders are 50/50. If you would have liked the alternative, Jones, it cost too much i.e. a higher pick. Sick stated he thought the overall package in the Kane deal was excessive in his opinion due the inclusion of the first rounder. To flame him with the 50/50 argument is capricious at best.
  21. I would eliminate the provision that a goal scored during a delayed penalty nullifies the penalty. The delay is because the offending team doesn't possess the puck. Getting the extra man for however long is a product of the rule that will end play when the offending team gains possession. If a penalty gives you two bites at the apple, perhaps there would be a disincentive to take them flippantly. Of course we need to see that the severity of the impact doesn't effect the frequency of calls. In other words enforce what you have and make it sting more. Vancouver scored on a dlayed penalty last night, and it would have been grand if it only stopped play so the Canucks get start their power play.
  22. This. Giroux is a very good all around player. I'll add that Jack can learn how to shut down a star and still be productive offensively by watching Giroux.
  23. That's not necessarily bad
