Great idea, but I've recently learned on this very board that Dawson Knox is steady as a rock and beyond reproach. It's the playcalling/gameplan, not extreme inconsistency. I too, would like a security blanket tight end that you trust is gonna catch the ball and not have games where he's a liability.

They can do better at TE. At least bring in another decent one so you don't have to rely on Knox's inconsistency.

Knox is super inconsistent. It's either a great game or he disappears. And he seems to disappear when it counts.

Every decision was super conservative from the moment the go ahead TD was scored. The XP, the kickoff, the defense for 2 ***** plays in a row. The most conservative approach was taken in each case. McDermott and/or the coaching staff played scared and froze/choked. Hopefully they/McDermott learn from this. Still hope both head coordinators are elsewhere next year, but I'll also be keeping an eye on McDermott because he's not a great close game coach and we kinda need that very badly. Maybe he's taken us as far as he's able?

I think McDermott thought that his D would give up less than 40 yards in 13 seconds and somehow not still allow enough time for the field goal as well. Those 2 defensive plays rivaled 3rd and 13 in SB XXV for how horrible they were.

I'm hoping both coordinators go elsewhere. I think we need some fresh ideas on both sides of the ball. Dorsey would be my choice for OC.

Bad players are often bad at least partially because they're often injured. We've had a lot of bad players during this stretch.

Just scanned the old Nylander thread. He was hazed and mistreated. I think that's something almost every athlete goes through. Some respond to it, some don't. Cal O'Reilly is an ***** and not a good choice as a mentor as well. I think Chicago could have been, and was, a change of scenery where he seemed to do a bit better, but I'm not sure his game ultimately will work in the NHL without a lot of other pieces making it all work. Pittsburgh will be interesting if he gets a chance. They love their cheap reclamation projects. Just read an article somewhere about how good of a well rounded and valuable piece Evan Rodrigues has become for them.
