  1. ESPN+ is super cheap and already has a couple hockey games a night. I like their coverage and set up. The NHL might actually be innovating here for once. Easy to fit in under the big Disney umbrella.
  2. For anyone mentioning Halak, the last time we acquired him he refused to report and play for the Sabres. He dressed for one game and didn't play, and basically forced Murray to trade him to Washington for Neuvirth. I'm sure he's not coming here now either.
  3. Just had my 2nd Wednesday. No after effects at all. My arm wasn't even very sore. I know I'm lucky, several people have had a bad few days after their 2nd shot.
  4. He's not/wasn't very good when healthy either. Oh and then after all those years of paying him his overpriced salary for nothing, he quits on the Sabres instead of earning his way back into the lineup like he should have.
  5. Or any other rich guy who'd keep the team in Buffalo. Wouldn't be difficult to outdo Terry's decade of great success. We don't need to be scared of the boogeyman. That's a big part of why we're in this situation, letting Terry destroy our beloved franchise.
  6. Krooked Tusker distillery and Keuka Brewing Company are excellent as well if you want a change from wine to liquor or beer for a day. And they're really close to each other. My mom lives near Hammondsport so I explore around that area a couple times a year.
  7. Good point about the Hall trade. Bjork could become a player. I'm trying to keep Bjork over all the others that we already know are NOT players on a successful future Sabres team, but I'd rather lose him than Borgen any day.
  8. Contract plays a big part. Borgen makes less than a million and is a RFA after this year. You're probably saving ~$4 million in cap by trading Risto for Borgen. Without sweeteners, I think Seattle takes Borgen or Bjork if they can. My goal would be to set it up so they'd have to take Miller, Risto, Girgensons, or Eakin. Okposo would be great too, but not very likely.
  9. As it should be. I know others disagree, but I question Eichel's "all in". I don't even blame him for it. It's got to be difficult dealing with what he has playing for this organization and all the losing and dysfunction I know it's difficult for me to handle 😁 The injury creates issues though in trading him. It would have to be at the deadline next year after he's proven he's healthy enough. They won't get value for him this offseason.
  10. I like your forwards protection list. Girgensons and Eakin are replaceable and overpaid for what they bring. Bjork is really the only question mark. How does he look with the Sabres? And will they want to protect him because they seem to have had their eye on him? I wonder if Skinner would waive his no trade to be exposed to the draft, knowing that Seattle won't take him? That would allow us to protect Bjork as well. In that scenario, I just let Seattle choose who they want and don't care who they take.
  11. Yeah I'm ok losing Risto. And yes, he's been taking all these high pressure situations, but he's not very good at it. He's really a 2nd pair player in my opinion. With our D options, I'm protecting Dahlin, Joki, and Borgen and am perfectly fine with Seattle taking Risto or Miller.
  12. Darcy was miserly with trades and assets. I think if we had him, or a GM like him, during the initial rebuild instead of Gamblin' Timmy, we'd have been much more successful.
  13. I leave Risto exposed. If Seattle values analytics at all, they won't select him. I also think that if Karmanos is any good at analytics, and that's what he's been hired for, Risto's star is about to dim considerably in the eyes of the organization. I'd also rather protect a tough, promising Borgen if it's a choice between the two. We've seen what Risto has to offer and I wouldn't be upset if the Sabres get rid of him. A big part of the Sabres' problem over the last several years is deploying Risto as a top pair defenseman, when he is clearly not one.
  14. I think we can safely differentiate the Bills and Sabres in regard to the Pegula's influence. He's hired the weak people, as you call them, so once again the problems start at the very top for the Sabres. I know you often give the Pegulas the benefit of the doubt in regards to the Sabres, but I'm not doing that until the franchise isn't a league embarrassment anymore. They've had a decade, they get no benefit of the doubt from me until they show they deserve it.
  15. There were also rumors of a rib injury. Could have been a bunch of different things that finally amounted to too much to play through. When does the no trade clause kick in?
  16. Associate "TO THE" GM? I hope Terry butts out. That's going to right the ship more than anything.
  17. Many other teams used their cap space to acquire more assets. I'm wondering if Terry preferred not spending that money?
  18. If I'm Linus, unless the Sabres overpay, there is no way I'm not at least dipping my toes in free agency, just to see what's out there. Why deal with this disfunction, unless you're getting paid to?
  19. Terry's never gonna stop, is he? Decade of one of the worst, if not the worst ownership in recent memory in any sport, and he still doesn't get it.
  20. We had a very useful bottom 6 forward that we traded. I'll take the known, thanks. Especially with this scouting department, or lack thereof.
  21. It was an error downgrading Lazar. We replaced him with a worse, more expensive player without the intangibles that Lazar brings. And Boston gets Lazar, a cheap, useful player for a million dollars next year as well. There's a reason this team sucks yet we have no cap room.
