  1. The best things in life begin with episode page 4.
  2. He's our best option at top LW? Recently, he's skated well with ROR and Reinhart and gotten some goals.
  3. Alright... I've got a howler of Commons Flemish Kiss ready for the Vegas game. (Commons has ceased operations...and apparently Modern Times moved into their brewery space -- which, MT is good, so... woot woot!). It's quite tasty.
  4. Vegas was seduced by the dark side of the Moulson. -The Moulson? The Moulson is what gives the Sabrespacer Meetups their power. It's an energy field created by all living things... and beer. Mostly beer.
  5. So will the jumbotron read: Welcome Jimmy - Happy 12th birthday Welcome Midget Hockey of Tonawanda! Happy birthday Erika! Love Grandma! Welcome 2nd Annual Great SS Meetup!
  6. It's really unfortunate and sad that his career has derailed with injuries/maladies: multiple concussions and the ICU scare last summer. Oki-pos-obi needs to take the entire summer off and re-evaluate what's best for him and his family. If we lose him, that's bad for us -- he was starting to round back into form and was a good linemate with Jack. x-Eichel-Okposo; x-O'Reilly-Reinhart looked to be 1-2 next season. But the Sabres can always move on and find new players (that's their business), a person and his/her family can't just move on with severe brain trauma. So, he's got to do what's best for him. And if that's retirement: good. Go for it. Choose life.
  7. Hey! Remember this offseason when one of the perks of getting Josefson was that he was good in shootouts? (I didn't. But now I think I remember that tidbit.)
  8. Now we'll see if Lehner's been working on his shootouts this season. It's basically been an entire offseason since he last faced a shootout shot.
  9. Yes... vs. TB. There, on the screen 5-10 in OT this year... now why isn't that available nhl, espn, tsn? Anyway. I knew we weren't that bad. Oh, Baptiste. Nice burst. Almost.
  10. Had to check the standings. 21 wins. 21 regulation overtime wins. We haven't won a single game in OT this season (or the single shootout for that matter)? I have a questionmark there because I'm dumbfounded. Not one OT win? Am I misreading something? Edit: Yes, I'm misreading. But why don't any of these standings just show the number of OT games played?
  11. We're known to let the pass... mmm... drop?
  12. Good-looking zone entries from both squads tonight. Are we icing an Amerks power play unit?
  13. Well... that first Ottawa power play looked about as bad as a PP can. Too bad we took another for good measure.
  14. Just tinkered on Tankathon... maybe ran it 6 or 8 times. Never my mind on where I was, hmm, what I was doing, hm! I'm here to tell you, McDavid could really use a quality defenceman. The Oilers and Dahlin happened a few times. The Sabres rolled in the top 3 only twice. So... yeah... I'm still all for enjoying watching games and hoping that we win. We'll win some games, lose others. Other bad teams will win, too. We'll still get a good player, just maybe not Dahlin. Let's win anyway.
  15. Sure... but there are only 15 games left. A bad team gaining 6 points on another bad team over that span isn't a given. Loser points keep everyone in their place (unless there's a massive streak (5+ wins/losses in a row). Looks more like a spoon and a cleaver...
  16. Deserving is game-by-game. They deserved to get crushed by Calgary based on how they played. But if the Sabres come out and play like they have against Boston, then they'll deserve to win. Let's win this game! If we finish last, that's fine, but the draft order percentages and the picking for each of the top three picks... finishing last isn't nearly so important as it was for McJesus/Eichel. Let's win, let the ping-pong balls fall where they might, and take our guaranteed top 6 pick and move on. Let's win and have some fun. The GDTs are more jovial when we win.
  17. On Tuesday morning I woke up more-or-less in the middle of the night and had this running through my head -- in particular the line: "we wear top hats because it's cold..." Is this what you hear, too?
  18. Once upon a time there was the second greatest wide receiver in the NFL behind Jerry Rice. His name... Sterling Sharpe. Except instead of Montana and Young he had Randy effing Wright and an admittedly decent Don Majkowski throwing him the ball. Then came Fabre. And Sharpe did well. But then Sharpe damaged his neck and never played again. But Favre learned to distribute the ball. And Brooks got good. And we dominated. We crushed. And had Sharpe stayed healthy, the Packers would’ve either been amazingly good... or he would’ve left in free agency.
  19. It minds me of when Sharpe got hurt... and the team was all the better for learning how not to rely on him.
  20. Too bad we didn’t win by 3 or 4. But c’est la vie. Hockey on!
  21. These are the bs calls we’re happy to kill off. Or... well... drain the clock with 3-goal lead on.
