  1. The answer is powerplay time. Joker is behind Dahlin and Power. Joker has 79 career PP minutes, and 38 of those were in his rookie season with Chicago. So 41.5 PP minutes in his five seasons as a Sabre. Contrast that with Boqvist's 370.5 PP minutes and 27 career PP points in five seasons. That's where he's getting the point production. If you put Boqvist on the Sabres he's not getting PP time. Now -- if you want to move Joker for a more rugged, shot-blocking, net-clearing type, maybe. But that's not what Boqvist is, either.
  2. Seattle has won 6 straight and haven't lost in regulation since 12/10/23. Basically, they've been really good ever since Grubauer got hurt and Daccord took over as the #1. They're even with Edmonton and St. Louis in points for the final Western wild card, but are out of the playoffs because they trail in regulation wins. The Kraken love the loser point (9 so far).
  3. I bring it up because Wahlberg has already signed his ELC and the Sabres appear to be keen to get their European prospects into the Amerks lineup the last couple seasons, even if they're 20 or younger: Kulich, Rosen, Kisakov, and Neuchev all donned Amerks in their age 20 season or earlier.
  4. Fancy that... Vancouver is a playoff contender this season and needs a very good defensive forward/penalty killer and their beat writer looks at teams that should sell before the deadline. Voila. But Greenway is under contract for next season and be the primary defensive forward and be the main cycler/grinder with the likes of Okposo and Girgensons much more unlikely to return. Mayyybe Girgs. Simple solution: 4 firsts for Greenway. Make it happen!
  5. Do Γ–stlund and Wahlberg both make the jump to the Amerks next season? That'd be a pretty slick 3rd line combo coming from Sweden's WJC top line. Kulich, Rosen, Savoie, Neuchev. No reason to rush anyone at this point, as a UFA/RFA signee should be the bottom 6 addition at the NHL level. Let all the kids steep and grow and when it's time... step into the lineup flawlessly.
  6. Go Bills! Go get that 2 seed. And yes. I don't normally recommend extending a 29 year-old RB, but Aaron Jones is the straw that stirs the drink and he's never had a ton of carries in any single year. Give him another 1 year extension and add a void year to smooth out the cap hit. The Packers are only paying the rest of ALL of their skill positions (WR, TE, RB) about $14M combined. Give the old man (by RB standards) another year. Add a OL, CB, a S, a new defensive coordinator, and go have fun with Love the next few seasons.
  7. That's how you win a Cup (and next season's President's Trophy.)
  8. Sometimes you get goalied. And sometimes UPL goalies you.
  9. Dahlin has taken the VO mantle of "All he ever does is score ENGs"
  10. Dahlin says... You are unwise to lower your defenses!!!!
  11. Not being as fleet of foot, Erik Johnson just plays the man and puts him down. And that's what every other Sabres d-man needs to learn. Forget the puck.
  12. The refs have done their job. They'll swallow all whistles the rest of the game, which obviously favors the more physical, defensive, and veteran team.
  13. No review. All the breaks going the Sabres way. Kindly take advantage, gents.
  14. Refs called Crosby? Now, we have to take advantage of this and win this game.
  15. Power needs to hold that another split second for the screen to actually get there.
  16. Benson just deftly negated a centering pass for a goal and it led to a good Sabres chance. So calm and one of the best along the boards already.
  17. He's got to feel unlucky at this point. Hit posts, no goals in 10 games. But he's got to shoot that.
  18. Of course, from the ref's perspective, the Sabres PP is just as willing to give up a PK chance as to get a goal.
