While drafting at number 2 is exciting, I am looking forward to draft day trades. It starts with the speculation from the broadcast booth and ends with B-man getting bood. I know the mess wont be fixed with this one draft but I have a feeling TM wont settle for just picks.

ya know whats cool about having Mr Money bags as an owner? We can do the same thing to Edm as they did to us with Vanek. The difference being they have 4 stars we can do it to over a few years. I doubt we do it but it would be sweet to financially break a Canadian team.

Not many people care about a future career AHLer. LOL I was so into the FA frenzy I had 6 windows open for rumors and sources. And yes Ecklund was there too but only so I could get a first hand experience of his work. I must say, you are all right in your assessment of him. Every deal he "broke" was 15-20 minutes after mainstream. However I did read my original statement somewhere else. If I could recall Id post it. Seems like a shift in DR tactics. From wanting too much in return to wanting too little.

And something about Enroth being #1 kinda makes me nervous. He has potential but he didn't get a lot of play under Ruff. Id like to see him get a lot more time if we maintain the current roster.

In a 48 game post lock out season I didn't really care. For a full season Id like to see something resemble a NHL level team. So what iif we over pay a bit on a FA or two. We would be in good company and its not like we haven't done it before. If Vanek decides to stay on for the long haul Im good and Im sure we can get something useful for Stafford.

Apparently other teams wanted Sulzer but his loyalty kept him in Buf. Definitely an attribute of leadership. He also plays well with the Hoff. He will do good this year but we will lose him to either the deadline or his loyalty will run out playing in Roch. Either way it will DR's doing and some people will even rationalize it.

I love it. Derek Roy went from being a top guy on the Sabres to a league ######. Next time keep your mouth shut Derek and be happy with what you have.

Thank you! I hate the fact everyone else got a little better. I find it hard that anyone is happy that we went status quo with not getting better. This time instead of getting the wrong guys we took nobody. The result is the same. There will never be a perfect market. If all the other teams minus one found a way to improve we could've as well.

I disagree. Stafford will not improve and should be moved prior to the start of training camp. Plenty of people believe he is capable of what he has shown last year. I believe we could have gotten something meaningful from say Nsh or Edm. Plus the subtraction of Stafford is an addition in itself. That coupled with the over paying just about every team did would about guarantee a decent return.

I wouldn't call it weak. Plenty of secondary scoring switching teams. Something we have lacked for a while. I do agree on the inflate contracts.
