  1. In all the articles about his time in Austria during the lockout, he refers to Austria as home. I get your point though.
  2. Then that's another major flaw in the organization. If you're confident in your vision and how to get there, what is said on a message board shouldn't mean jack.
  3. All are hands down better than DR. Oh, and online petitions are useless.
  4. Hope we don't get any 2014 or 2015 picks in a deal. :P
  5. ;) For sure, and they used accumulated assets to build around them and augment at the trade deadline. As perennial contenders they were able to attract olderufa's for a run at the cup and even get players at a discount or to restructure for the opportunity to WIN.
  6. You mean the boogie man in round two? Or the journeyman in round three?
  7. Being winners with playoff appearances and cups since 1987 probably didn't happen in one draft.
  8. I'm far from indifferent as a 43 year fan and 32yr season ticket holder. But, if you told me I would suffer through a couple more years of frustration for a run similar to what Detroit fans have had, I'm all in. We are not poised for a one year turn around imo.
  9. Eleven. True with $ and inflation. Players get bigger and faster all the time. One could argue with that analogy.
  10. If you get what you consider a good offer, pull the trigger. Whenever.
  11. The premise was the team going on forever. In 2014, you could trade that 2nd (2014) for a 2015 2nd and something else.
  12. The team goes on forever. The goal was to build a long-term winning franchise. There are always more players. When the picks are shouldn't matter.
  13. $8 million(less with lockout and trade) for 21 mos. as a Sabre. With two summers and a lockout, I wonder how much time he actually spent in Buffalo? Look, I have nothing against him. But he was well compensated, chose to come here, and was traded before we lost him for nothing. That is the life of a professional athlete. I can't feel real sorry for him.
  14. Fact or wishful thinking? He reminded me of a lot of Craig Rivet. We had to overpay for a declining physical d-man whose best years were behind him. He made a ton of $ from us as a reward for his play in Calgary. Again, another failed attempt by DR to fix a problem of his and LR's own making.(i.e. too many soft mobile defensemen who can try to join the rush but can't play the game how you have to in your own end)
  15. Okay, I'll bite. What should we have gotten for a declining third pairing defensemen on one of the worst defenses in the league?
  16. Wouldn't surprise me if he's not in the league in two years. Definitely on the downside of his career, and it is hard to hang around long when your skating starts to fail.
  17. This is not directed at you, but at the lack of veteran leadership idea that is put out there all the time, and most often by the media. Heart , desire and the will to win and never quit is something you draft. lt too is a talent. It isn't something you embarrass or force someone into. They have to want to win for themselves and their teammates. You don't have to be a veteran to bring that to the table. It is a quality that has to be part of the scouting and interview process. If you have people who constantly need external motivation, you're ######! If memory serves me correctly, Fred Smerlas didn't win a game his senior year or Steve Tasker during his college career. Yet, they were discovered and were great pros.
  18. Maybe TP can blame injuries again this year.
  19. Yea, I appreciate your frustration. It is easier when you face the fact that we really are one of the worst teams in the league. No game is a sure point for this group. There are no "we should beat teams."
  20. An enema might help the whole team. That's not po, correct?
