Bullshite! Plain and simple. Build a frickin team that wants to pay the price and has some talent. Complaining is for losers, which is what this team is: a collection of mediocre or less than mediocre players. Losers look to blame others for their inadecuacies in all aspects of life. Actually, he's been injured this year. Don't know about his career, but I'll be happy for someone else to do the work and tell me. I do know that Van is injured a lot and plays hurt a lot. I respect the latter, but it affects his game and the team. Is he worth it? I love his numbers, but can I trust his health for16 wins when it matters? I have no idea. Who cares. He is old by hockey standards for a physical player, has lost a step, and will be irrelevant or out of the league within the next 24 months. He may already be irrelevant. We love to think of these guys in their prime. We never saw it here. Two 2nds in any year was a very good return.
