If Ben Bishop doesn’t win the Vezina it’s a travesty

Kill me before now. Sometime in the past. Before this point. Before I read these posts.

Oh. Oh god. This is an all-time bad take. Kill me now.

I think Stastny is going to be one of the very best options made available this offseason that can fill a 2C role. That contract is favorable and he had a very good year once he got healthy. If you can buy low and fill that 2C spot then it really opens up some options moving forward.

I think ignoring where she comes from and where she is now is certainly one way to be sure your mind doesn’t define that as success. She’s a successful person. Her teams have not been successful (though I think Bills fans are very satisfied with where the team has gotten and where it’s heading under them). I don’t need the diversity council leader to have Stanley Cups. That’s not what such a venture is about.

Two Africans (Siakam, Ibaka), a Spaniard (Gasol), a Canadian (Boucher), an Englishman (Anunoby) by birth. Kawhi associates closely with his family heritage which is Cape Town. Jeremy Lin associates closely with his Asian heritage.

Every single time someone mentions Vancouver in trades someone brings up Horvat and every single time it needs to be clarified: they’re not trading him. I don’t know where the idea that they will trade him came from.

I’m saying the popular concept of qualifications is overrated. “Qualifications” shouldn’t be applied as defined by the masses. But I’m certainly not the one not answering considering I posed a question first.
-
I’d be all over Stastny if he’s cheap and a salary dump.
-
He’ll be cheap.

Quoting myself here to say that the league is stupid both because of how it’s run from the top and because all the GMs are gigantic pansies. Stop coming up with excuses not to make moves and just go for it. A small difference in the salary cap shouldn’t stop you from building your team. You can hash out the numbers later.
-
This league is ***** stupid.

We’d be fleecing them. Larsson is arguably/probably better than Risto. The value for each corresponding piece is actually greater for what we’re getting vs what we’re giving.
-
Great call and great avi. ?
-
Indeed. I’ll probably check one or both out.

So not answering the question. Got it.

Appreciate the contribution, as always. I think “qualification” is very often used to weed out anybody who has experiences that might lead them to alter the field or landscape they’re entering. I believe something like a diversity council doesn’t necessitate qualifications of professional nature (though Kim certainly has those, as well). A few months back there was a debate about who is more qualified to be president: Trump or rapper Cardi B (who I imagine many of you have never heard of). While I think neither are within a stone’s throw of being able to run the country, I don’t think you can give an edge to either as far as “qualifications” go. Cardi lived and learned on the streets, forced to interact with poor humans she relates to and rich one’s who sought her services as a dancer. She had to overcome a lot on the streets and would have far more insight into what the people on the street need to survive than Trump would. But people look at Trump as at least more qualified than a rapper who came from nothing because he’s done... business deals? Qualifications are a sham in many cases where the positions don’t require a learned skill.

What exactly makes one qualified to be on a diversity council? The concept of “qualified” is incredibly overrated and overthought.
-
It didn’t until you showed up.
-
Still not interested.
-
Noooooo thanks. You’re getting an AHL contract, a “meh-to-decent” lottery pick and a middle six forward for Risto. Not into it.
-
Give me Meier pleaseee
-
They get a second in 2021

This is a guy I was hoping to pick up.
