  1. Yeah, some alleged altercation with his wife/girlfriend. He broke down his wife's door, used racial slurs, according to a criminal complaint.
  2. Thanks, thought he still lived in WNY. Maybe got deported (or voluntarily deported) after his last incident. I wish him well but he seems like he needs professional help.
  3. My experience with every ex pro I played against is that rarely if ever took a slap shot (barring my Korab fiasco). They knew they were playing "men against boys hockey" and always looked to pass rather than shoot. Sort of a hockey unwritten rule.
  4. I am surprisingly looking forward to tonight's game. Maybe it's Stockholm Syndrome, I'm not sure. But I love hockey and I love the Sabres. Drop the frickin' puck!! Go Sabres!!
  5. Crap, when I played against Craig Ramsay and Derek Smith (both retired at the time) at Sabreland , they played on the same line!!! We joked on the bench to the ref, "Hey, no lifters for those two guys." It was the closest real-life experience to being on the Washington Generals I ever had. When they were on the ice, I don't think our team ever touched the puck. Just . So. Frickin'. Good. And they were in their mid 30's at the time. But both those guys were first-rate. No arrogance or dickishness at all.
  6. Third offense after his DUI , and first girlfriend stuff. This may get him deported since he only holds a green card and is not a US citizen IIRC.
  7. Take them to Duff's after the game. It'll be a great evening either win or lose.
  8. Maybe Dahlin matures into a defenceman where at the end of the game you say, "I didn't notice Dahlin out there." Then you look at the stat line and he had 3 assists, 4 blocked shots, 5 hits and was a plus 4.
  9. I'm grateful she's OK.. I'm shaking just reading your post.
  10. It's phenomenal and humbling how good even the worst pro is. Their skating is unreal. They make a tight turn, take 2 crossover strides and they are GONE.
  11. I haven't been a peacemaker on this board, but let's try to have as much fun with the last 20 games as we can. If the games aren't entertaining, I can always count on this board to give me a laugh or two. All of us on this board need to "stay connected."
  12. Sort of like helmets in the 80's. And visors in the 90's. I think it's inevitable.
  13. 2 things hotter than Banquet Pot Pies. Molten lava and the surface of the sun.
  14. Really, Lou, "He'll be fine?" It's like they say, minor surgery is only minor if it's not happening to you.
  15. Wow. Maybe getting closer to full face shields.
  16. Not to kiss a$$, but I think this board is awesome. I always get a laugh or an education when I log in.
  17. Back in my time. I played against Craig Ramsay, Derek Smith, Jerry Korab (Crickett Lounge team) at Sabreland and Randy Burridge in a summer league at Leisure Twin.. A couple of takeaways. Frickin' Ramsay was crazy good. He was retired and in his 30's and I was 21 and he burned my a$$ SEVERAL times, and I'm not sure he was really trying. Such a huge difference between playing college hockey and being a pro. The guy was AMAZING. No doubt the best player I'd ever been on the ice with. Korab busted my shin pad with a slapper. It hurt like He11 and I thought I was going to puke on the bench. Burridge cheap-shotted me at the end of a game slamming me into the glass in a "no check" league. I called him a dick. I'm sure it still stings him to this day. ?
  18. I have to believe in bloodlines since all my siblings are more successful than I am. ? Never heard a bad thing about Mike, but he may need to learn a bit more to move to GM (if he even wants to go into management since he is in coaching now). I'm grasping a straws here to find someone, anyone, that can right this ship (and I spelled ship wrong, it should have ended with a "t".
  19. My wife just told me that being a Sabres fan ages you faster than being the president. I got a good laugh out of that until I looked in the mirror.
  20. Bloodlines are good for a management position. Isn't his brother the GM for the Dolphins?
  21. For the last 20 games. I'll take it.
