  1. My hope is starting to build based on your response here, and some of the fan reviews in Rotten Tomatoes and elsewhere.
  2. I hope you enjoy it. I just can't bring myself to go until I can ascertain that it is reasonably free of overt political agendas, ridiculous and boring sub plots, and dastardly character assassinations of heroes that I would prefer to remember the way I remember.
  3. It appears the majority of critics dislike Rise of Skywalker. Scott Mendelson, specifically, tore it apart. His write up was a thinly veiled attempt to insult fans would didn't like Last Jedi, or subscribe to his view of the world. Perhaps I will go see Rise of Skywalker if he hates it so much....might actually be good then.
  4. Too many memories to mention, but here were some of my good memories/moments: -Oilers/Sabres on MLK Jr. Day '87, Scott Arniel with the OT winner against Gretzky/Messier. I was so excited to get my free Whopper with a Game Stub after the game. Victory never tasted sweeter. -The smells and sounds that have been unmatched. Still remember that stale beer smell like it was yesterday. Bandits championship game in '96 was so loud, I couldn't even hear my own thoughts. -The guy who used to walk around with the keyboard, and the Sabrettes. -Those TVs in the upper blues because you couldn't see the scoreboard. -Sabre Carnivals. Got to chat with Robb Stauber in the locker room, and it was a real treat to chit chat with Matt Barnaby when he was a nobody. -The bats in the trees outside the building and parking under the highway. -The last game at the Aud, and shedding a tear as I realized that things were really changing and I could never go back -I was very fond of all the "original" goal songs we used to have ("Celebrate the Tradition", "Rock 'Em Sabres, "Jump/Shout", and obviously "Sabre Dance"). It would be nice to bring those back. I associate our current goal song with losing. I would love to get a copy of "Jump/Shout" if anybody has it. That is the only song I can't find on YouTube outside of old Sabre highlight videos from '93/'94 and '95.
  5. Not trying to rain on anybody’s parade, but this is lousy hockey.
  6. Both these teams are awful. People think Matthews is good defensively? Give me a break.
  7. Fired up, not fired. I want passion!!!! Even with these goals, just see a bunch of floaters on both sides.
  8. What a horrible product this is. I feel sorry for season ticket holders and the kids. This is just brutal and boring. Can somebody get fired up please?!
  9. Maybe he just found out he doesn't have to cook the turkey this year? There is absolutely nothing to feel good about relative to the Sabres.
  10. Where do I sign up for this? The line balance is much better, albeit probably less "talented" on paper from what we are giving up. But talent without will equates to the abomination that we see on the ice in Sabres sweaters.
  11. Instead we get to watch some skating around for 20 minutes with very little passion. Like a silver ballet.
  12. That Okposo collision was very similar to the collision that ended Lafontaine's career with the Rangers, in that it didn't seem too bad from looking at it.
  13. Dahlin was lost on the play. Not sure why he floated forward and towards the center of the ice on the Carolina rush, and then decided to wander rather uselessly next to Hutton. The lack of assertiveness is at the core of all their issues in my opinion. I know not everyone agrees, but I want some banging and smashing out there. I actually don’t mind Reinhart’s misconduct. Good! Show some emotion! Re-direct it at the opponent next time.
  14. The episode went by so fast. After two episodes, my hopes are really starting to build that Disney really nailed this one.
  15. Yes, I thought it was pretty good. And they only release 1 episode per week. For context purposes, I thought TLJ was horrifically bad, but really enjoyed Rogue One.
  16. I've always been an ardent Risto supporter, but this weekend was the camel that broke my straw back. I saw what you saw essentially, and I have really lost all hope in him becoming much of anything outside of minute muncher.
  17. We need aggressive guys, period. We have been so passive the past few games, it is downright sickening. Risto can throw the big hit, but he can be soft as cotton in a defensive board battle or in front of the net.
  18. How's Pekar really pronounced? Is it really "Pee Kar", or is it "Peks cash"? Some of the older folks here might remember Stanislav Neckar, and he pronounced his last name "Neks cash".
  19. Brown cares only for Brown. The chances this doesn’t end well are high. If this was orchestrated, AB plays the long game better than Emperor Palpatine. He’s been a jerk for years. There is a lot of mouths to feed on that offense. The complaining will start once any adversity hits. Can you imagine if Brady gets hurt?!!!! I’m not rooting for an injury because if you strip away football, Brady seems like a good guy, but would be lying if I said I wouldn’t enjoy the outcome of said injury.
  20. Why are you talking about Vanek like he is Patrik Stefan? He did score 40 twice, and has produced pretty steadily throughout his career. He’s not a hall of famer, but far from a disappointment.
  21. Let’s end this madness and do risto for ehlers.
  22. The white gloves are awesome! Tony Tanti.
  23. This appears to be the same jersey that was leaked if I am not mistaken.
  24. I'm still of the belief Reinhart can excel as a center if given "proper" wingers. This flexibility gives him more value than Laine in the long run, and I would prefer if JB targeted Ehlers. Reinhart has been a good soldier during the dark times, and I would like to see him succeed as a Sabre.
