If running a 4.42 40 is slow, then sure...

Right, which means that is likely his job now. McKenzie is still on kicks

McKenzie hasn't been returning punts, it's been Shakir.

Except they can't run the ball and a team would not have that type of success running the ball if the game was tied. People need to understand context. The Packers were never winning that game running the ball down by 17, so the Bills, while not happy with giving up so much yardage, did nothing to try and discourage them from running the ball. The average box defenders were 6 in the first half and 6.1 in the second half. They simply didn't care...if a team wants to run itself out of the game then the Bills are happy to let them. Green Bay wasn't trying to win that game, they were trying to "not lose by as much". I mean, you have the two time reigning MVP at QB and you are trying to run the ball down 17 late in the 3rd quarter? WTF? It was so shocking even Bills players were dumbfounded by it. Well, great...they succeeded mainly because Allen got a little careless, but even that philosophy wouldn't have saved them normally. You saw what happened when the Bills actually "needed" a stop on 4th and 1...they stonewalled Jones for a loss with Von Miller caving in the entire right side of their OLine. Let's not forget the Bills were the number 1 run D in the NFL coming into the game and deservedly so.

Beane and virtually no other GM is paying much for an RB these days unless they are an absolute game changer like CMC or Alvin Kamara. And even they didn't fetch a first round pick. RB's are pretty much a dime a dozen. There are as many if not more RBs that are mid-late round picks that do well as there are first rounders. I mean look at Chris Warren in Pittsburgh, an undrafted free agent badly outplaying their first round pick from last year, Najee Harris.

Oh? "The first game Denis ever played was at Notre-Dame de Lourdes school when he was seven years old," says Andrè Savard, one of Denis's three older brothers. https://vault.si.com/vault/1990/10/08/return-of-the-native-better-late-by-10-years-than-never-denis-savard-is-right-where-he-belongs-with-his-hometown-canadiens

Yeah he played well for us while he was here.

Nice trade for Marlowe...if Poyer misses any length of time cannot have Hamlin AND Johnson out there at the same time...that has not worked out too well for us. Marlowe was quite productive in the 4 games he started in 2020 for us...2 INTs, 1.5 sacks and 1 FR. You can't trade for a player the other team doesn't want to trade.

Who will be the Sabres Rookie of the Year?
matter2003 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Maybe the Sabres should be scouting this player for the future... -
They weren't quite that bad...they finished with 85 points. They actually only had 72 the year before, and were the 5th worst team in the NHL, so maybe that is what you were thinking of. But then they went from 85 points to 110. That is a meteoric jump and nobody expected it. So if we are following that track we probably end up around mid 80's to low 90's and then next year would be that big jump.

Anyone know what is going on with Lyubushkin? Reported he was a healthy scratch last night...I thought he was playing very well for us and brought a much needed physical presence and nastiness to the lineup. Ah...NVM, this explains it better in detail...re-aggravated whatever was bothering him from blocking the shot...assuming its an ankle or foot by the way they talked about it. https://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/ilya-lyubushkin-out-again-sabres-plan-to-add-new-defenseman/

I mean, hell yes. 😂

This team reminds me a lot of the Sabres team coming out of the lockout...tons of young skilled players but everyone thought they would take a while to put it together. I am not suggesting they will have a similar path but there are a lot of similarities.

Granato has a chance to become a legendary coach of the Sabres who took players that seemingly were ruined by other coaches and basically left for dead and completely turned their careers around. Dahlin, Skinner, Okposo, Thompson, etc...I mean did anyone see Okposo becoming a key player for the Sabres? The calls were for the Sabres to buy him out because he was so bad. I am not sure how many other coaches would have been capable of doing what Granato has done here with what he was working with at the time, but it's been amazing to see this young team blossom when a coach just started to believe in them instead of put them in the doghouse every time they made a mistake and made them afraid to play their game. If he doesn't get any consideration for Coach of The Year the voting is rigged.
