  1. Are you even sure the Sabres scored 5 goals in February?
  2. I don't have a hard answer, but it's certainly nothing I'd hang my hat on. I just think it's interesting Wheeler's peak does seem to coincide with Scheifele's emergence outside of this sample. He had never hit 70 points until 15-16, when Scheifele started his breakout as a top center. Strikes me that there might be something there.
  3. Numbers to support Thorny's side of things: dellowhockey‏Verified account @dellowhockey 1h1 hour ago More So, uh, I just took at Wheeler's numbers at 5v5 during the games in which Scheifele was injured last year, as I've been assured that Wheeler was solid during that time. The points sure dried up: Scheifele injured: 21 GP, 298.52 minutes, 0.4 G/60, 1.0 A/60, 1.4 P60 dellowhockey‏Verified account @dellowhockey 1h1 hour ago More Most common linemates in those games: Laine and Connor. Small sample and whatnot, but those are ugly. Yikes, that posted way uglier than I thought it would. Anyway...
  4. Wheeler is certainly going to be overpaid by the midpoint of that deal, but given his current production at his age, I'm inclined to think he'll still be a useful hockey player. This isn't a corpse on skates situation.
  5. The interface may have been bad...but it was still better than your team name.
  6. Definition of professional ethics: ending class 15 minutes early to be on time for a fantasy football draft. Sort of. I actually have a co-instructor for this class, so it won't be ending early. I, however, will be ducking out a few minutes early ?
  7. You're saying there's some relationship between name quality and QB quality, but you're only looking at good QBs, so of course there's going to appear to be something there. But you also have to look at bad QBs, and there will be a whole host of bad ones with good names. Anyway... Carson Wentz? Carson is fine, but that's a brutal last name. Matt Ryan? Nobody likes the two first name guy!
  8. Setting aside your interpretation of what represents a fact, selecting on the dependent variable is bad, mmmmk ?
  9. I don't necessarily blame them for Incognito, but him going crazy wasn't exactly so unpredictable that it completely excuses getting caught with their pants down.
  10. I never got the impression anyone actually believed in the QB name thing. Just something fun to joke about. Maybe I'm wrong on that though.
  11. I direct your attention to the movie thread. The "real" history of slavery was quite the kicker.
  12. You need to stop posting unreadable quotes from the worst designed website of all time. I can't take it anymore! Just paste as plain text!
  13. Uh, some of the stuff Huckleberry said was racist.
  14. My point is, who cares if they run? If they're good, they're good. It seems to me that Flagg and a whole host of others simply don't want a QB who uses his legs.
  15. I, too, would hate having Russell Wilson or Cam Newton. Running QBs can be either good or bad...if you can get a good one, why say no just because of style?
  16. Yet somehow, I'll still have a better record than you.
  17. If I had a gun to my head, I'd say Allen starts. I wouldn't do it, but I really don't think we gave up 3 assets to redshirt him all season. He's going to play.
  18. He looked like #1 by default at the time of signing, but he wasn't the best once they all started playing.
  19. Agreed. I'm still sitting here in a state of disbelief we got anything for McCarron. He was that bad. That was certainly the assumption when we signed him. But nothing in camp or preseason would point to it still being the case.
  20. Right. Which is like 8 games more than undrafted free agents. And as Flagg said, most of those years are probably bouncing around practice squads. Trade a 7th? Sign an extra UDFA for essentially the same expected benefits.
  21. They really don't: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/its-hard-to-tell-how-good-nfl-teams-are-at-the-draft/
  22. In fairness to Freeman, he was adamantly against signing Risto long term. He even lost a charity bet to me over it!
  23. Trading a 7th round pick, by definition, cannot be considered a dumb move.
  24. I think he's probably going to be around Andy Dalton (when Dalton is at his best) level. Certainly not bad, but you really want better
