Ah, that'll do it! Last I saw the sens were up 3-0 anyway. And the Oilers get the 3rd period goal for their first win. McDavid scored it, so that streak continues.
-
They get the W then? Both clubs 2-2?
-
There might be someone else that just isn't playing today. Not sure.
-
In today's Senators-Kings game, Dion Phaneuf (LAK) is the defenseman that is getting the most money from the Ottawa Senators this season.
-
I wonder how long it'll take for the Oilers to score a goal that McDavid didn't have a goal or assist on. So far, they've got 4 goals in 2 games and a period, and haven't been able to get one without him.

The Coyotes have had trouble scoring goals, but from what I gather they have been playing pretty well. -

Wake up, offense! Let's do this! -
I had things work out nicely to where I was going to be able to relax and watch some non-Sabres hockey tonight for the first time this season. There is not a single NHL hockey game on tonight. Wut

That's hopefully good news, assuming rust won't be an issue. The guy has not played very much NHL hockey lately

I have no idea how to read that, but I know it's epic -

We haven't had any games yet that stayed 1 goal games or tied the whole time, late into the third. Once we have the stats from about 10 of those, we'll know what kind of possession team we're going to be this year a lot better -
Can we call line 3 the ROR line? Also, has anybody asked Phil in the last week or so what day Bogosian's day to day to day to day to day to day to... ...to day to day injury will be healed?

Was only the PK not ready to play? Because that's where the train went off the rails. -

The same score effects that worked against us when we were winning games -

I think I've found the problem - what these guys say in their interviews has no correlation to what gets said and done behind closed doors. These guys need to concoct something to say after 82 games. It's not something deep and penetrating from their soul, giving profound insight into how they operate. It's filler, junk. it gets even worse if they're a bad team, because an awful lot of losses come an those are always harder to talk about. That's why I haven't sat to listen to a post game interview for at least 6 years. Context clues have indicated that Phil is quite hard on these guys after losses like this. He just doesn't rip into them in front of the microphones, because if you look at the coaches that do that nowadays, they're all dumba$$ hot heads that suck and get fired in short order. -
I was thinking Brent Burns

Imagine a sound defensive hockey player that could step in to take the faceoffs at an elite level, be one of the top 2 point producers on the team, and feed pucks to those two at will, and have a killer beard to boot (just messing around)

Who Will Have a Better Season - Bills or Sabres?
Randall Flagg replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
For all the joking and for how bleak it looked for the Bills, the Sabres are a stumble in Arizona away from making this a dead heat going into Houston on Sunday. Luckily, both records are certainly better than they could be. -
I also think, offensively, Jeff has played pretty well, and has had some significant chances that didn't bounce his way. He will score 25 this year, and we'll be a stronger team when they start going in I'm worried about the other parts of the lineup because we have no guarantee that any of Okie, Berglund, Tage, Mitts, and their LW start producing and controlling things at ES anytime soon.
-
Like we took Jeff off our top line immediately because he wasn't meshing, helping their defense, and getting the chances he usually gets when he controls a line. The Hurricanes did the same, that's why his linemates were always so bad in Carolina. And that's going to happen everywhere he goes, so hopefully that isn't the thing that drives him away from here, because then he'll never be satisfied I think of those three groups, Skinner-Jack would be the worst. Jack-Sam has controlled games so far, Sam-Skinner had preseason chemistry, and in game one, Jack and Jeff ran into each other twice and didn't generate anything. They both want to control the puck and have a tough time reading off of other players who want to control the puck historically (How many times did Jack and Evander skate into each other's lanes driving us nuts)

They controlled the entire game against Vegas, and certainly weren't worse than NYR in that game. You've got to stop treating every game like the single most important and telling event in the entire world if you don't want to make yourself hate this sport -
It's unfortunate for Jeff that his entire history with Carolina is generating offense by himself, lifting bad players to good ES numbers, and doing bad things to top lines, then, because the Sabres and hurricanes aren't the only teams that have noticed that.
-
Phil continues to understand his players and build better lines than I'd hoped for.
-
If Pettersson remains a PPG player, then Jack's comparison would be with the ~50 point Horvat, no?
-
There are two teams in the league that will have second line centers with production anywhere near Jack's
