Krueger's speech thing they pasted all over social media was pretty meh. I hope the guy can coach. I liked Tage's interview after his session.

nope

I'd prefer Haula, then Dzingel, then Eakin. My impression is that Eakin doesn't play very good hockey. I'm just going to be really upset if we don't Fix, with a capital f, the 2C position for at least this coming season.

Although that would be an improvement on last year's attempt

Botterill's Drafting in Regards to Size and Physicality
Randall Flagg replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
This was my thought when I saw his power play highlights in those videos. Which is hardly thorough analysis, but man it took him a long time to stickhandle and make his pivots and passes. That would get eaten alive on the boards by NHL PKers. He needs to vastly improve his puck control/stickhandling. If he can, I think his shot will naturally develop enough that he can be a high-end goal scoring center. He'll look like Jeff Carter -
Wasn't he interested in Matt Duchene during the season? The actual ex-Colorado cancer, a worse hockey player who will get more money at an older age?
-
I hope people don't jump on me when I post this a thousand times when our 2C offseason move is trading for Cody Eakin or Erik Haula
-
Somebody in the crowd must have shown him our roster.

Skimmed over that one. They and Dallas would have missed in the east though (and Dallas was a bottom 10 team with a vezina goalie according to their own fans' consensus - the only team with forward depth as bad as BUF or EDM!) and were mediocre regular season teams. No correlation!
-
Though I give GMJB full credit for the Skinner acquisition and re-signing, it is worth noting that Skinner's choosing his location dramatically reduced the return Carolina was likely to get. He more or less asked to come here I think any Buffalo GM in 2018, of any competence level, would have made roughly the same trade But it was the right move and he did it so he gets the GM points

Physical engagement, grit, sandpaper etc. "hard to play against" -
The five worst ones were also ass. No correlation apparent!

Botterill's Drafting in Regards to Size and Physicality

Stylistically yes, but I just mean that if he hits Sam's level of overall NHL effectiveness, that is an objective success story for any draft slot in the back half of the top 10 and we shouldn't assume it will happen -

The thing about Donskoi and Connolly on Jack's RW is that they won't need those guys to be able to put up large offensive numbers - Jack and Jeff already have that covered. Those two would both bring an element to the game most Sabres fans think we lack, and are capable of using it in a way to create space for Jack/Jeff. If this were last offseason, before Skinner, then I'd feel a lot worse about signing one of them to be Jack's winger. -

We should be grateful if Dylan Cozens becomes the NHLer that Sam is/will continue developing into -
Vegas fan on Miller: Miller is 26 at 3.875 million for 3 years.Advanced stats and shot suppression numbers list Miller as the best Vegas defenseman defensively but that isn't the case. He is often given third pair duties here but to his credit he is almost always paired with Holden or Merrill who are both inconsistent defensively and required someone to watch them.So he had those good numbers while playing on the third pair but with defenseman who had their share of blunders. He is capable of a top 4 role but it is up to his effort. He was benched game 1, we sucked and lost. Gallant made comments that it was up to Miller to put in the effort to be the player he is capable of.He came back and seemed to get the message for games 2-7 and was our second best defenseman after Theodore in the playoffs (better than Schmidt was in the series.)I think I would absolutely feel comfortable with him as Schmidt's defensive pairing in our top 4 if cap issues weren't something the team was trying to mend.

Sabres RFAs Receiving Qualifying Offers from the Team
Randall Flagg replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
He was pretty good for Rochester though, from what I heard. That's probably why. -
i see what you're saying - feels like a sudden change of course. Though it also matches what @CallawaySabres was saying years ago. Which is much cooler than just having one alternate white&gold jersey.

Just came to post that. The first time this franchise has posted that royal blue logo on any of their social media probably?
-
Duh so it more accurately divides when I collapse a third of the way into the race and they need to figure out how far I ran in their spreadsheet
-
I have to think we'd have been able to beat that offer easy, without it being particularly painful. Which hopefully means Botterill has a more meaningful center trade brewing!
-
A literal home and home though, like one game is @ San Jose, and the next game is vs San Jose I don't think I've ever seen us do that with a western team, it's usually Toronto or Ottawa or Detroit or something
-
A home and home with...the Sharks... nice

Jbot Do Something Already Off-season 2019
Randall Flagg replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Only two of my five favorite games from this season were in the streak - Pittsburgh and San Jose. They played like ass during a lot of it to be honest. I remember thinking at the time that the week or two before the streak started was actually the best hockey they had played all season. The other favorite games were the Ottawa blowout for Pominville, the win @Anaheim, and Jack beating Boston with 4 points.
