  1. I thought their speed was okay, but their passes were missing to an uncharacteristic degree.
  2. Ralph and co. need to fix the special teams. Special teams is coaching. The key players on each unit have all been parts of good PPs and PKs. The problem has the potential to spoil the season we're getting out of Jack.
  3. Sam is so nifty and Jack is amazing at hockey
  4. The hands aren't quite warmed up yet, presumably because of travel and 3 days between games, but they've started this game with very strong skating and effort. And perfectly timed aggressive forechecking plays and pinches
  5. Way too many cheap tickets left on stubhub. People can beat their chests about being proud of their cold weather, play-in-the-elements team, but they don't come to the damn games in December. It never mattered when we were bad, but it matters now. If I see as much purple as I saw green during Eagles week, I'm going to be pissed. This game is huge. If I was in town I'd be there, and I'm more broke than anyone Just build a dome Terry. Our main competitors in the AFC all play outside in the cold too so we don't have any tactical advantage there. Denver, KC, NE, BAL, PIT, CLE, NYJ, CIN, and so on. Meanwhile, in the biggest game in decades, our stadium is prime territory for a fan invasion because it's too cowd out for ouw wittle fingers Plus I know we got Allen for his hand size and arm strength in the elements, but he's had some pretty damn good dome games (MIN, DAL). Yes, I know this is an incredibly simplistic take on the subject. No I don't care
  6. You still haven't responded to this: And yet Larsson is still displaying well-above-average shot suppression abilities with demonstrable defensive technique, still scores as often as any other fourth line that gets used like he does, and is still winning the goals for vs goals against battle in his minutes with little offense, which is a pleasant surprise from a fourth line. It's not his fault you have no meaningful or realistic parameters for what to expect out of heavy defensive usage fourth liners, or have no ability to analyze how well or poorly a player does in that role, or both. It's also not his fault that he's being asked to play 2C/3C, but it's not as if his lines have tanked while he's been forced to do so. Yeah, I know you played hockey in college pi, but most the time I have no idea what you're watching
  7. Definitely looks good.
  8. Please post pics, I haven't really seen Jack with his bucket off.
  9. Baltimore has steamrolled good teams like Seattle and New England, and has beaten San Francisco. They beat the Rams and Texans, two winning clubs, by a combined 72 points. They're not only in the top tier of NFL teams - they lead it. The Bills can win any game they play, but it's not very likely that they win this one. Of course, it should be fun to watch and hope, and I think we can keep it a game.
  10. Holy *****. That is quite the stat line Jacky boy.
  11. In 2000, it didn't happen in December haha. Weird way to phrase it.
  12. Most of those games with Vlad right? :)
  13. Just got done watching. I was supposed to be back in time for the 6pm start - my plane landed at O'Hare, i waited paitently for the flight to OKC, and right when I migrated to the gate, it was canceled. Thought I was going to have to spend the night in Chicago, and miss some very important obligations tomorrow. But United found me a connection to OKC through Houston. The last time I came back to OKC during a Sabres game, I watched on delay as well - they beat the Devils 5-1 at home that night. Funny. The Sabres are a +2 in goal differential this year. Thanks to New Jersey - in non-Sabres-Devils games, that number is a -9! This isn't taking anything away from the Sabres, who did precisely what good teams hope to do against bad ones - but man, NJ is freaking horrid. And that's before you get to their goalie situation. That Sheary goal looked like me trying to make a save. In this game, Mitts both showed beautifully why others think he has good hands, AND why I insist he doesn't. I'd need my video camera to explain what I mean, but I don't have the energy. He was good overall on the wing. I'm sure the crowd was fine, but I couldn't hear a thing on the broadcast, do they purposely drown out crowd noise? It was a bit empty but I could see people cheering without hearing anything. Ullmark has been consistently good this season. Eichel scored his 17th goal of the season tonight. This day last season he had 4. Assists were 27 (last year) to 21 (now). I'll take this season's Jack :) Olofsson keeps getting better one game at a time. he's learning how to shield the puck against players stronger than he is. And that shot is freaking wild. We were right to be optimistic this summer. What a BLAST from Jokiharju! Skinner was great on Sheary's first goal. I wonder if Sheary is pissed that he took that shot in the third, when Sheary would have had a layup for the hat trick. Oh, and a beautiful shot from Asplund for his first goal. Much better than getting it on a penalty shot with 0 seconds left! Fun fun fun. Robitaille!
  14. The Sabres played a great game that night against the Rangers. The scoreboard didn't show their efforts. The next 10 or so games made up for that :)
  15. I bet part of this is the fact that he missed a few weeks just now. Botts' best UFA acquisition in 3 years By a lot, unless I'm forgetting someone
  16. I view Vesey and Sheary as different styles of the same player. Will give you bursts of production in between long droughts (this was the Vesey story in his Ranger days too) with inconsistent play in the meantime - Sheary still capable of making a thing or two happen on the rush or in the offensive zone, and Vesey not so hopeless defensively (which was surprising given all I had read before the season). But pretty frustrating players overall.
  17. The Sabres aren't making another trade until August 2021
  18. Is he going to make the team? Is this just an "allowed to try out" thing?
  19. I've looked for this feature more than once. Most notably when politics was a thing, but also for Off Topic threads with a subject uninteresting to me
  20. Pats are going to lose out. Andy Dalton and Fitz each have a little more to give to Buffalo. We beat PIT, NE, NYJ and host our first playoff game since before I was born I think?
  21. I think we still have a ways to go before we can be sure of this. IMO they went from early December to mid February of last season putting out games like we've seen since early November this season, before collapsing emotionally
  22. Not a big Taylor Hall guy
  23. We have some points in our past few though, and are past the brutal stretch. Let's put somethin together here fellas.
