I'd be down to watch. I assume they're going to try and keep the 2020-21 season to a minimal delay as well? (Of course, whether or not the next wave winds up canceling that is another matter, but I do anticipate them to have plans assuming that doesn't happen as well as plans for when it does)

This is likely the easiest explanation, and yet their first round versus SJ last year showed me some of the most gorgeous hockey I've ever seen. Hard to think that was a product of something too simple to hang onto the coach for.

Your response to that yacht comment would make sense if the comment was a Pegula going all "woe is me" about suspending construction of the yacht, but the comment was merely graham (unnecessarily, honestly) reporting the suspension of construction, seemingly to draw reactions like yours. Like I don't care about their yacht, but I'm genuinely unbothered that it exists and not glad that they had to suspend its construction, and not mad that they are potentially upset about this (again, they have said nothing of the yacht themselves from what I've seen) to me it's a weird thing to get hung up on. -
That's what I'm saying haha. I didn't get why Juju is worried about that stat for a backup
-
We'd better go find a backup with a good playoff record to satiate these fans, sheesh

If Allen missed 7 games next year, I'd be confident Andy could win us 3 or 4. I'm not confident Barkley could get to 2. Andy has plenty of problems, and can't combine his vet experience with physical gifts, but playing QB for >5 years gives a unique perspective that cannot be gained any other way, the kind of thing that allows Fitz to lead a bad roster past the GOATs in their own house in an important game. The wisdom that comes with almost a decade of reading NFL defenses while under fire is valuable to have in a backup position, even if, yes, Andy chokes in the playoffs. GA isn't suggesting bringing him here to start in the playoffs

I do think Dalton would be a huge upgrade on Barkley. I think there's a nonzero chance he'd be better than Josh with a strong roster like ours. And I still think Josh is promising. I just like Dalton (not love, but like)

Vogl was a dutiful lapdog for them as recently as a year and a half ago, the way he ran with the ROR stuff was disgusting. If he's turned on them, there's probably a reason for it -
An antibody test study in Santa Clara County (imperfect, as the authors lay out) suggested that between 50-85 times as many cases of coronavirus reported, had occurred. Still a small percentage of the population, but which helps lower their guess at a mortality rate by an order of magnitude from what it appears to be (they guessed 0.12% -> 0.2%, or twenty to a hundred percent more deadly than the seasonal flu) Something about the participants of the study wasn't super representative of the population, and they tried to adjust for that. But I'm glad to see antibody tests starting, soon we'll get reliable data on this thing.

Getting depressed is a great way to start the week! Lol -
Anything interesting ?

I get the message as well when checking on the status of my check. They have my direct deposit stuff all set up, I just got my tax refund deposited like last week. I'm not sure how any of this works or if what I'm saying makes sense as a response to your post

Thanks, and sorry to hear about yours. That really sucks. I saw you had mentioned it was to a current hot spot...

I'm eligible and my whole family has it except for me.

I'm missing the joke there! And the trick is to be so out of touch with the real world that's beyond the classroom walls that you sheepishly under-guess by a lot of money when you are put on the spot with that uncomfortable question And hypnosis. Use hypnosis

Thank you! Good to see ya! Hope you're staying safe and healthy, times like these are not good for us germaphobes

Yeah, I mean before that last game we had lost six straight in regulation, and 22-30-7 since the hot start doesn't differ meaningfully enough from Phil last year to make me all that giddy. Though I don't necessarily blame Phil or Ralph for these swoons, as for the second year in a row I'm just seeing a team that is playing normally but not talented enough to be able to match the playoff-prep efforts of good rosters (and there were a few broken-spirit games last year, and would have happened this year too, Arizona as a precursor). We need a team that is talented enough to win games against talented teams in playoff-effort mode. Until then, the best we'll get post TDL is what we saw in Colorado

Montreal Trades Marco Scandella to STL for 2nd and Conditional 4th.

You're dancing around the points people are actually talking about - I don't think a single person here wants Scandella here on this new contract. -

And it's not even like this is some huge thing - with Jason, it's a million small things that make you generally anxious about the next move. Taking a hit on those sixth rounders in his first draft - yes, meaningless as far as on-ice product goes, but wtf were you thinking? dudacek posted something a while ago that points to how much more complicated NHL teams' frameworks and understanding of analysis for hockey players are than we realize as armchair GMs - why does ours always lead us to players that create the fewest scoring chances and most boring offensive zone play in the league? It's one consistency with a vast majority of his preferred players spanning three seasons. I'll allow the facts that he's way smarter about hockey than I am with no complaint - but when on earth do we get to see the good parts of this complex scouting begin to override the fact that we are wasting years of Jack's prime watching these players eat it on the boards, repel away from the slot and skill plays, and finish in the bottom five of the league standings? -

Still completely flabbergasted that a professional scouting department and NHL GM watched Frolik this year and said "yeah, that'll be the guy we expend energy on acquiring" Especially since Scandella had bounced back so nicely. I get that you aren't going to trade for excellent players midseason, but what was it that told him Frolik would bring something we needed more of?
