  1. along with Tarnasky and Porter from Rochester, hmmm... deal in the works to fill those spots?
  2. Aah yes, Tahous at 3am on Main St. in the 90's. Always interesting/exciting/dangerous at the same time. Nothing like eating a plate and never knowing what is coming through the door next. Brings back a few memories.

    Sabre fights

Foligno and McNabb can drop em too. Would love to see a game with the 6'8" boys in it at the same time, Finley, Scott, and Myers.
  4. I think Ryan is better than Stafford and Adam combined, but Stafford, Adam, Sekera and a 1st is way too much to give up. Maybe that is what Anaheim is asking and Darcy is saying NO WAY!
  5. I don't think Drew will be that productive. Going into his last 20 games last year he had 31 points, 12g and 19a. That's is not nearly good enough for a power forward pushing 400 career games. I don't care who his linemates were he needed to be way more productive than that. Ennis and Foligno will help, but no way that line keeps up that same scoring clip this year. That said I think somehow they should trade for B Ryan, I think he is a significant upgrade over Stafford.
  6. The right mix of goons and skill players won Anaheim and Boston cups.
  7. I think I just wet myself after seeing this. :)
  8. Just had a half a small can of mixed nuts and a Mtn Dew whiteout. Nice little snack.
  9. Name a goalie anywhere who would have been successful over that 12 game stretch where his team only scored 20 goals? If you really think Miller would have had more success than Enroth did during that stretch you are delusional, unrealistic and just an Enroth hater with no substance.
  10. Enroth losing streak began on 11/29 vs the NYI. He played in 12 games, only 9 of them were full games. 8 of those 9 he faced 30 or more shots and 6 of those 9 were 35 or more shots. Also, in those 12 games the Sabres scored a whopping total of 20 goals. Hard for any goaltender to win when that happens. Oh and he didn't exactly face the doormats of the league either, Det 2x, Bos 2x, NYI 2x, Phi, Chi, Pitt, NYR, Ott, and Winnipeg. Gee, didn't steal any games? or couldn't pull a win out? Can't imagine why!
  11. Yep Crosby caught Miller napping, and Ryan said as much, but the guy that made 34 of 36 saves for Canada must have been somebody other than Luongo, right?
  12. Debatable who has the better defense in front of him, and without a doubt Miller's defense was light years better than the Florida defense Luongo spent 5 years behind and still managed to put up equal to better numbers than Miller did. To blame the sole reason why Vancouver didn't win the cup on Luongo is just stupid, it's a team game. Luongo had 2 shutouts just as Miller had 2 shutouts against the Flyers. Each goalie gave up 20 goals in the other 5 games in their series yet Luongo is looked at as a choker or the "sole reason they did not win the cup" while Miller is hailed as a hero for keeping the sabres in the series. Which is it? They either both choked or both kept their teams alive. I do believe that year Boston was a machine and a tougher opponent than were the Flyers FWIW.
  13. Oh, I don't know about that. Luongo has better career numbers, he has 6 years that are better than Millers 2nd best statistical year, has accomplished more in the playoffs and beat Miller head to head in the Olympics. Whether or not Miller would fetch more is to be determined by the GMs, but if I had to guess, I would say no he wouldn't fetch more than Luongo.
  14. I think he suffers more because of his coach than anything else. As time goes on it looks more and more like the Ruff/Vanek relationship is like oil and water.
  15. I think there was "zombie blood/juice" still on the handcuffs and Ricks knife. So when that kid made himself bleed, he infected himself. Also when Rick gutted Shane, i'm assuming the knife Rick used was also infected from killing walkers and inturn infected Shane.
  16. ummm... sabrespace, what are you currently reading thread. :P
  17. i agree with almost all of this, but has anybody ever thought that the lack of toughness/grit is a huge contributor to the reason the sabres don't score? when was the last time you saw any of the top 6 taking huge hits to make a play? i couldn't tell you the last time i seen it. i do see alot of bending over and reaching with the stick or peeling of the puck because a checker is coming in hot and heavy and ultimately the sabre player loses the puck. i fear now teams will have their way with buffalo, the next boston game is going to be ugly i predict. what is going to stop team from being like that towards them? buffalo has no answer for that.
  18. whew, am i glad the sabres don't count on you for advice.
  19. kind of like what kassian has gone through this year, his first year. but you had already written off kassian after 25 games as not "being the answer to lucic". whatever
  20. what amazes me is the negative critiques of kassian after 1/2 half of a season on 2 different teams for 2 different coachs. apparently because he hasn't gotten into 25 fights, scored 25 goals, gotten 25 assists, have 100 body checks/hits and doesn't play 20+ minutes per night and kill penalties, all before he just turned 21, he is NEVER going to develop and he is what he is SOFT. you people have got to be kidding me, what the hell do you expect from a rookie only half way into his first season. it's amazing how fans want him to act and perform as a 10 year seasoned veteran at 20 years old and when he doesn't and needs experience, cut him loose he is never going to be any good. REALLY!
  21. exactly what i have been saying. you could see zack out there thinking about playing the system right instead of just playing/reacting and of course he will look like what he looked like because he was still learning i think he will be the total package in a couple of years and all those that are satisfied that he got traded today will be wishing he was never traded in a few years. you watch, he will be instantly better for the canucks because he will be allowed to just go play.
  22. true, but everybody learns and develops at different rates. to judge zack as a failure at anything at this point is wrong imho. the kid was up and down learning systems, playing with god knows who because of injuries most nights, not to mention i think ruff doesn't know how the treat and handle rookies. bottom line is he needs a lot more time to show. you can see he has the skill set and physical presence, he just needs to more time. i don't mind the trade for hodgeson, i just wish kassian wasn't the one going the other way.
  23. true, but none of them arent nearly as soft as the sabres
  24. and who has been more productive in the playoffs, finesse style or rugged style? i say the latter. how has buffalos style done lately?
