In the storied history of the Carrion, this will be the equivalent of the Soviet-Canada series of 74. Foul, bad, and grimy, we march as one. (or not) Screw it. (cue dramatic music) THIS IS THE EFFIN CARRION!!

Another thing you see is that Buffalo can't hold possession even against 3rd and 4th lines. These guys, usually playing with a lead, are taking tons of low percentage shots. They are generally only out there to win the zone, - so they fire away. I think Nashville's 4th line the other night took about 12 shots in about 12 minutes. (or at least it looked like that).

Whatever Hodgson has been through this year, you gotta give the kid credit for keeping his yap shut.

I'm sure he'll get a warm welcome. :P

At this point in the season, aren't we auditioning for next year rather than "earning" for this one. C'est la vie.

It's hard to know really....what I think is needed is just time playing at speed. Indecision at the NHL level is the real killer. Slower players than Grigorenko have survived in the league.

A ridiculous amount.

Thanks. Gionta was getting shots with Grigo centering him. That's a plus.

He'd be a perfect, red meat, attack-dog VP candidate.

So in the third year of his contract, I'd be surprised if Grigorenko has had 700 minutes of ice time in the NHL. He hasn't had the benefit of playing on a line suited to his ability (as in, not the 3rd, and 4th), and has not had the benefit of consistent play with a line. It is a pretty small sample. The organizational failure is that he's only 20, a third year pro, and there is no idea what he is yet, or a program to employ him, which is a shame, because getting wins the last two seasons have hardly mattered.

I'm with Tom on this.

We used to have a homophone bar here, you could come in with a good reed, but the customers: habitually blue. Incredible.

I'm not trashing Nolan. I've been restrained. I'm just sharing my reasons why you won't see him in the NHL again. Selah. If you do see him in Buffalo or with another team, feel free to call me on it.

But naming a daughter with a homophones of your own masculine name? Just not conventional. No biggy though.

Didn't Steve Ott name his kid Maverick? And Jordan Leopold name his daughter Jordyn? Not sure where those rank....

When Nolan was on the Island, Snow let Nolan go because Nolan really had no time for managing the minutes of rookies like Commuaeu (sp?) Tambellini, and Neilsen. I think the last game of the year of of a meaningless season..., Nolan played Neilsen for one shift fulfilling his professional courtesy to his GM. Kid turned into a pretty good player. I don't think anyone here is going out on a limb by saying this won't end well either.
