  1. Honestly, I had no idea. This was not a group of intimate friends or anything, I just happened to be at an organizational meeting for something completely different. (think neighborhood watch, when I opened my yapper). I was immediately cast as an enemy of Trump. (which I can live with, but I actually thought even supporters would be delighted by the comparison, like Reagan was an actor). Now I'm the crazy ass neighborhood lefty because I called the Apprentice a Game Show.
  2. I got myself in trouble yesterday. Here is what I said in a room full of people and I started World War III: "It is interesting to me that a game show host might become the next President of the United States." X. BeneSteppedinPoodict Now, I, except for hockey, and occasionally the news, almost never watch broadcast TV. 4 people were really angry that I called the Apprentice "a game show", and by implication their political guy, a "Game show host" People have described the Apprentice to me as a game where people compete to become the winner of the Apprentice Game. And I say, "Oh, it is a game show that runs the course of a season." So.....help me here. Is or is not the Apprentice a game show? Am I supposed to believe it is something else? Some of Wiki seems to be on my side: The Apprentice is a British reality game show in which a group of aspiring businessmen and women compete for the chance to win a £250,000 investment from British business magnate, Alan Sugar, towards a business of the candidate's creation, with Sugar as a 50% owner.
  3. sometimes great players are just odd. take hasek, take cookie gilchrist, take spaceman bill lee (well, not great, but worth keeping, take the cleveland indians that worshipped Jobu. I'm not worried about E. Kane as long as he never takes a shift off. From what i've ever seen, he hasn't.
  4. RJ's great. The voice and cadence is still there. The capacity to climb the ladder and screech for a full minute when he's excited isn't. I'm okay with that, he's our RJ.
  5. How important is O'Reilly to Buffalo's possession game? O'Reilly won 16 draws, the rest of the Sabres 15. Ocho Johnson is like watching a drunk fraternity brother walk the top of the factory wall. He'll probably make it across, but He's going to teeter and spill some beer while everyone holds their breath. Ennis goal was ridiculous. Good to see Zemgus score. Was anyone else sensing frustration kicking in? That was a fun win. A go out and win, win. Just a fun win. Love the shot production.
  6. that's a guarantee that the sabres will get called for ticky tack soon.
  7. Actually the opposite, really, these games are about the player. I'm sure when asked, Briere requested it. It is kind of nice. (his kids were raised in Buffalo and Philly, right?)
  8. Gionta was looking very good in pre-season. I really think he'll start scoring once he is skating better.
  9. It really is by design. By using pairs, Bylsma is basically rotating pairs and then mixing in a third forward. But it really allows him to double shift his best forwards without disrupting the rotation.
  10. I used to run through prison buffet lines, but now I fly!
  11. Might as well be. There was no place better in film for packaged lines.
  12. Quick thoughts: He's working hard from what I see, but he needs to push some bodies back to be effective near the net. This team really needs more motion down low and he needs to draw more attention. I haven't seen any team worried about him.
  13. I usually steep my tea. Twinnings loose tea, or Teavana of late. English or Irish Breakfast.....it has to be bracing. I used to drink a lot of Earl Grey, but I think I got sick once and was tasting begamot for a week. I can't touch it anymore. For cutting, I usually like a board with a rusty nail through it. There really is something about a good self-inflicted puncture wound that is superior to slicing.
  14. Handsome woman is something I always think that Elvis would say.
  15. Chamomile and a boxcutter? or Rooibos and razor?
  16. there is goaltending, but it means different stuff.
  17. Good news: the forward lines are strong, and we have centers. Bad news: we have half a blue line and no starting goalie. This is still a project.
  18. I enjoy Button. I wouldn't put him in charge of my scouting department, but he is fun to follow.
  19. Fan interest and willingness to attend aren't always the same. TV ratings are relatively high, even though they fell by about 40%. So no, I don't think there is a fever right now. But I thought it was fairly obvious to most.
