  1. Road games with Rob Ray really drive me nuts. His color never really touches on line changes and who Byslma has on or off the ice. ( I miss Lorenz) at least when I'm there I can see the moves myself.
  2. Today I'm going to drive to Rochester, it is very important to me that I do. I think I might go to Dinosaur too. Why can't I do both?
  3. Well this isn't exactly new ground is it. What's your opinion so we can question your motives too? :P
  4. It could help. Convincing just one player to come, or one of the best (maybe Eichel, to stay) could have everything to do with bringing a cup(s) here. The make-over ain't gonna hurt. But I think even if the reasoning is flawed (as you believe it is, I don't), it is what Pegula has bought into.
  5. That's not a bad retirement there. (I would imagine you can buy a lot of blow with that cheddar).
  6. Nobody had Carson's timing. He made everyone around him funny. Fallon doesn't have that same thing IMO. Fallon's very funny himself, but he needs the games and gimmicks to make everyone around him funny. Carson never needed that.
  7. The only thing that worried me about that was Samson didn't keep his feet. he got right back up. Really that was nothing. IMO. He should expect to get his ass dumped hanging out there. And he will. And he shouldn't stop.
  8. But none of that was inconsistent with the entire Hockey Heaven thing. Making a Buffalo a Hockey Destination. It seems to me, at least in the past, you've seized on the entire: "Starting today,"the Buffalo Sabres' reason for existence will be to win a Stanley Cup." And the Meddling, and the .......or whatever the angle is. (are we supposed to ignore that now?) Every hockey event in Buffalo is a chance to sell the city to the players that come here. I was just talking to a team of made of junior players (not Major) that played a pre-season tourney in Harbor Center last month. They ate at the 716. They loved it. They loved it! A kid who is going to be very good told me he can't wait to play there again. Even if Pegula didn't intend it. It is working. Bringing the combine here. Pushing for World Juniors. It really does give the city a chance to show off in a decent light. It may seem far fetched, but making Buffalo a hockey destination at least can't hurt the team. And I want you to say it. :P
  9. That wasn't a big deal IMO. He was in the crease.
  10. If there is any position in today's game that you overpay for, it is the guys that can play center. Sabres are well under the cap (10 million?) so it isn't like the money is precluding any player.
  11. C'mon now. Really? You hated the fact Pegula built Harbor Center, hated that he has supported US Hockey, hated that he tried to land the combine. No? (you yourself asked that Harbor Center be an OT topic, right? Even though it is an ice rink populated by present and former Sabres, and they have scouting and video support there. your angle has always been a little deeper than a simple discussion. ) We just might be suspicious of you. :P
  12. This is a bazaar little story -- He claimed to be ex-CIA and was quoted as an expert on Fox News. Prosecutors say it was a lie. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/he-claimed-to-be-ex-cia-and-was-quoted-as-an-expert-on-fox-news-prosecutors-say-it-was-a-lie/2015/10/15/eb1b7818-7345-11e5-9cbb-790369643cf9_story.html
  13. (my evolving theory) I really don't think Kane is a puck hog as much as a guy that doesn't have the vision to match his skating, and shooting. He's a great athlete, but he misses some easy plays that develop at times because he simply doesn't see them. He should keep shooting and banging though. I'm hoping with time, he'll get a sense of his teammates and Bylsma's system. I really like what he brings. (okay, I hate that he's missed two tap-ins, but he has an extraordinary skill set even without the vision.)
  14. I love the idea. It really makes it harder to match up against Buffalo in road games (as compared to the 3 traditional lines). It is easy to take out a single line, but at least force teams to match and out-think you.
  15. I don't think I've ever seen both skates.
  16. He's, sniff, sniff, just growing up so fast. We love ya, Wook.
  17. There are so many good things that I'm seeing that the loss isn't stinging so much. The Sabres protect the puck well. Very few give-aways. Maybe not any. Really so much improved. Teams are taking a ton of penalties against Buffalo. That is speed. One PPG could have tipped this one. Ocho isn't the future. He's a serviceable back-up. But he's not going to steal many.
  18. He's skating much better. Much, much better. I almost had the sense that he was playing not to get cut. Now that he got cut, and that's over, the kid is playing.
