You’d have to ask Joe Crozier.

I’m sure Jack would be far more excited to be playing on a Sabres team with an open, skating offense such as this version, than the defense-only-system-losing-thing that Ralph had everyone depressed to be stuck in. Players like to score and play offense. It’s fun and motivating.

The soft pretzels are usually overcooked, but they DO have pretty damn good Puck Plates. Also, Suzie Cool is pretty fly. -

Back to my original post - does anyone know what Darcy has been up to the last 5 years? Any thoughts that he might return to the NHL in some capacity someday?

Regier was fired by the Islanders in 1997, and hired by the Sabres the same summer. In his 2nd season, the Sabres went to the Cup Finals, where they were robbed by the Hull No-Goal. In 05-06, the Sabres were poised to win the Cup until an inexplicable rash of injuries hit the D. The Sabres did not re-sign Drury or Briere in summer 2007, matched an Oilers offer sheet for Vanek, then traded Campbell. The Sabres subsequently only made the playoffs 2 of the next 5 seasons, TPegs comes in, and fires Regier. Regier’s tenure with the Sabres was marked by three ownership changes and periods of economic hardship, particularly in 2003 when the team filed for bankruptcy protection. Regier was frequently praised for creating results despite severe budget restrictions. He is recognized as an NHL pioneer in video scouting and analytics. The Corsi number, a widely used advanced statistic, was originally to be named the "Regier number" by blogger Vic Ferrari, who first heard Regier discussing the principle (in the end, Ferrari preferred the sound of "Corsi number"). In summer 2014, Regier was hired to be AGM of the Coyotes. On 2/2/16, he leaves the Yotes for “personal reasons” - who after years had been bottom dwellers, and were finally in the middle of a playoff hunt. This was the season John Scott was voted into the All Star game. Scott was traded Jan 15, 2 weeks before the All Star game on Jan 31. At the time, Scott’s wife was due at any time with twins. Regier had signed Scott twice for the Sabres. Did this saga have anything to do with Regier suddenly leaving out of nowhere, 2 days after that ASG? When I asked Scott about this in the Sabres locker room at the Sabres Fan Fest last year, he smiled and said “let’s take a photo.” So, what really happened with Regier and the Coyotes, and what has he been up to since? I wasn’t able to find much info. Does anyone think he will ever return to hockey? Regier is such a big part of Sabres history, and I’m curious what he’s been up to. He famously predicted “suffering,” and it’s what Sabres fans have been doing since he uttered the phrase.

I like Zemgus too, but not on the contract KA signed him to.

Jack Eichel prefers Surgery on neck injury; done for the season.

It’s so much pain. Migraine. Headache. I can hear his bones break. -

Well, lucky for you, the Sabres have 5 more games against the Rat and his collection of garbage, including 3 games in 4 days next week. -

The saddest moment in the game is when they showed him at the very end of the bench, and nobody was talking to him. -
First you said he has 27 points this year. Now he only has 12?

I think KA did fine. He did a great job bringing in Hall and Staal, and I don’t think many of us expected them to crap out the way that they did. He got what he could for them. Nobody expected them to land here to begin with.

It’s interesting to watch a team with youth like Cozens, R2, Mitts, Tage, Bjork, Olof, Asplund, Dahlin, Bryson, and Joki plus an AHL goalie and an interim coach play a LOT better than a lineup that had Eichel, McCabe, Staal, Hall, Montour, Lazar, Hutts, and RK as coach. -
He’s already better than Hall was after one game, so I’ll take that as a win. Bjork 1 point, no giveaways Hall 0 points, 19 giveaways
-
It would make him the leading scorer on these current Sabres LOL

Bjork missed two chances in the game to bury a goal. Skinner has at least 2 a game that he misses, so Bjork will be fine. -

Laaksonen is coming along nicely as well. It would be nice to see these young stay at home types balance out the offensive D, but they also need a strong vet or 2 to help all of these kids on D. -

Other than the ATROCIOUS refereeing, it’s been an entertaining game.
