I keep hoping for the best. I'm often up at 03.00 am watching the games live and often see good things with this team. I also like this board a lot even with all the pessimism that naturally flowed into it. But in the end i can't help myself and keep hoping for the best and try to see the positive side in all of this.

I would love to sign him to a multiyear deal tbh, as a 4C he is very capable. Vesey was worth a shot and I wouldn't mind him in our bottom 6 next year either.

It is ? I count him only signing Skinner. Don't bring up the Scandella trade because that moved Ennis' contract as well.

Wouldn't mind a 2nd line of Skinner - Cozens - Kane next year. But getting Kane out of chicago won't happen. He is their best player and will cost us two firsts at least.

No but cap space is an extra tool for trades as well.

Problem is some of that cap management is still the last GM's fault, and one 6 million dollar contract on the books for 3 more years on a 4th line player.

I think I would push Reinhart down to the 2nd line. See if he can help Skinner and Mojo out. Also he can prove himself in a contract year and it will show us a bit better who he really is. Putting up points on Eichel line doesn't warrant a big future contract for me.

I think we all had that type of colleague or manager in our professional lives but Botterill doesn't give me the feeling he fits into that category. I think he wants to improve this team and already has taken steps last year to do so. They didn't all work out but I'm looking forward to this very important offseason.

I think just hit the reset button with him. He will need to bulk up and maybe he won't get the points in the AHL but they will be working on his physical side for sure.
