  1. Why? Does he look like Brad Marchand?
  2. I have four pots with budding sunflowers growing in them. Been waking every morning and moving them into the sunlight. Can't wait until they are big enough to be planted in the yard
  3. When I first read about how we have to rely on Russia to launch things I thought it was a joke. Just really sad.
  4. And getting the PP to produce at a level it should. With all this talent our PP should be much better
  5. A SpaceX capsule exploded on the test stand last year. Boeing’s first Starliner capsule ended up in the wrong orbit during an crew-less test flight in December and was nearly destroyed at the mission’s end.
  6. Despite NASA’s insistence that the public stay safe by staying home, spectators gathered along beaches and roads hours in advance. Among them was Neil Wight, a machinist from Buffalo, New York, who staked out a view of the launch pad from a park in Titusville. “It’s pretty historically significant in my book, and a lot of other people’s books. With everything that’s going on in this country right now, it’s important that we do things extraordinary in life,” Wight said. “We’ve been bombarded with doom and gloom for the last six, eight weeks, whatever it is, and this is awesome. It brings a lot of people together.” https://apnews.com/da66485df4d82c055ce9d6b84a20e450 During the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and shuttle programs, NASA relied on aerospace contractors to build spacecraft according to the agency’s designs. NASA owned and operated the ships. Under the new, 21st-century partnership, aerospace companies design, build, own and operate the spaceships, and NASA is essentially a paying customer on a list that could eventually include non-government researchers, artists and tourists. (Tom Cruise has already expressed interest.) “What Elon Musk has done for the American space program is he has brought vision and inspiration that we hadn’t had” since the shuttle’s retirement, Bridenstine said.
  7. I think it’s actually a good off season to sign a veteran goalie, hopefully they get one
  8. I'll add this. Maybe something happened in Hutton's personal life--family death, wife was having sex with mailman, kid was sick, he might have had an undisclosed injury or something and he comes back strong, but I doubt it. Wish we had another young player ready to make the jump now in Rochester
  9. That would be a serious mistake. Whatever happened to Hutton--who was really good at the start--we just can't take a gamble on him alone again. They absolutely have to replace Hutton with an NHL ready goalie
  10. Which would solve nice part of the scoring problems. I also think/hope he will be better next year.
  11. I just totally disagree with this. How did we do when Ullmark was hurt last year? I really don't want to live through that again. We outscored the Islanders even though that team played with the lead way more often than that. Letting in a soft goal--which happened on a regular basis last year with Hutton and whoever that other guy was--changes the game. We would have had more scoring opportunities if we had the lead or were tied. Or just getting more out of a PP that should have been way better.
  12. I totally disagree, goaltending is the most important position and aside from LU we totally sucked at the position. We actually started a an AHL goalie over our veteran because he was so bad. You just can't win that way. We do need more scoring, but we scored more goals than the Islanders and they had a great record. Perhaps if we had one of the Islanders goalies and they had Carter Hutton things would of been switched.
  13. If Carter Hutton had not crapped the bed starting in November, we would have made the playoffs and things would be better now. Yes, we do need more scoring but getting a goalie is number one priority now.
  14. Wow I looked at her wiki page and what a crazy life she has lived!
  15. Kim Pegula will not be happy about this!
  16. I was a little board this morning. Hope you enjoy. The 2030's were too much for me. The genetically altered players coming into the league really changed the game. The wealthier teams buying up all the labs that “made” these players really tilted the playing surface. I was happy at first when Kim Pagula fought the NHL in the courts to get the first roboplayer instated in the league. "Our team has no chance against the Rangers and Flyers and Bruins with their Frankenstein players, it's time we are allowed roboplayers." But then it started getting a little strange and embarrassing. Most people thought it was a joke but Kim was all fired up. She continued to bash the league for everything on twitter, taking special aim at the "No-Goal" controversy claiming the league has had it out for the Sabres for decades and THAT'S why the Sabres have never won the cup. She was on tv as much as possible pushing her roboplayer views. "They are more human than people realize!" The league was so angry with her that, led by the Rangers, Flyers and Bruins, they made an ill-considered rule that stated clearly that roboplayers would not be allowed in the league and if something had not been born or did not have a beating heart, it was not a hockey player. Lawsuits followed that surprisingly went in Kim's favor. People were dumbfounded it went this far. In late March of 2038 a Federal Court Judge in Buffalo decided to hear the case. Buffalo was electric with news of the event. Kim P. held a rally in Lafayette Square to rally the team which was fighting for its life to make the playoffs for the first time in the decade, led by Sergei Ovechkin, son of Alex. Thousands showed up in the square and roared in enthusiasm. Kim P., who was now the most famous woman in Buffalo History--she had also led the creation of the Greater Buffalo Metro Area, which united almost all of WNY--then went to the Mic and spoke to the instantly silent crowd that hung on her every word. "We are tired of being cheated. Our time is now. These people, these corrupt people running our league need a wake up call! Let me tell you about the new M-5 player Google has just released to the Sabre’s Organization. The corrupt elites say it will hurt people. This is a lie! The M-5 doesn't even throw body checks, it just seeks out open ice and makes great passes. It only makes the other players on our team better. The 150 MPH slap Shop is something the M-5 doesn't even use that much!" The crowd roared in approval. "And I want to let you all in on a secret," she continued. "Our M-5 does have a real beating heart!" The crowd looked confused at this point but cheered. "I want you all to join me Saturday, as my special guest at the arena for our special birthing ceremony for our M-5. We will make this happen! Will you join me?" "YES!!!!!" "Will you tell your friends" "Yes!!!" "Will you say it or will you scream it?" "Yelling and screaming" That Saturday was a day that will be long remembered in Buffalo. A feeling of almost religious fanaticism filled the air as fan streamed into the arena. An Evangelical Fervor pulsed through the areanba. The lights were lowered and a cathedral like atmosphere was created. The national anthems were sung and then Kim P. came out and in low tones spoke to the crowd like a mother speaks to her confused child. "We come here today, my friends, to welcome a new soul into the world," she said solemnly. She was the lone figure on the ice highlighted by a spot light. Raising her voice slightly she continued, "We are her to witness a miracle, a new era that Buffalo will lead the world in, and you are here to watch it." Suddenly the lights came on and the Sabre’s players were all in a circle with their arms outstretched touching the M-5. The crowd gasped at first and then started to buzz. Kim P. picked up on the emotion and shocked everyone with a wild shriek that silenced the crowd. Holding her arms out above her and motioning frantically to someone somewhere a cloud of fog suddenly filled the ice and hid everyone. The lights went down, organ music began to play and the lights began to focus on one spot, where, out of the fog skated the M-5 into the light while Kim P. began singing in a hypnotic voice, “Where there is light there is life, pray onto all to respect the birth of the son. “Where there is light there is life, pray onto all to respect the birth of the son. Where there is light there is life, pray onto all to respect the birth of the son.” The words appeared on the scoreboard and everyone chanted along. Everyone was mesmerized by the affair. The lights came on and the M-5 skated around the arena as Kim led the crowd to scream and yell like never before. In a scene which some people present—myself included—would remember as kind of scary and unnerving, the crowd broke into wild hysterics with people just screaming in ecstasy. Many fans just broke down in hysterical weeping and wailing. This crowd spilled out of the arena and spread out through downtown where they stayed on the streets all night. We learned later that the M-5, soon to be named Sabre 1, had had a squirrel’s heart placed in it so that it still beat. It had a heart and had been “born” according to Kim Pagula. But would Sabre 1 play against the Bruins and their genetically altered lineup in round one of the playoffs?
  17. Maybe it’s time to think about trading our number one pick this year for a solid ready to contribute player
  18. Risto’s contract should be extended now
  19. NHL needs the tv revenue to survive so they will have to get something going
  20. Fixed it, thanks
  21. Korab was a beast! The pick we got for him turned into Phil Housley If he wasn't traded, would we have beaten the Islanders in 1980? ?
  22. Mike Greere Scored really late in a wild game at Philly capping a big come back. Teppo finally scored his first goal of the year in that game. 06? Darius Kasparitis's goal in OT against Hasek--his very last moments as a Sabre was terrible. It was a shock at the time
  23. Sounded like Ted Darling sang the National Anthem
  24. If we are batting .500 with Tage and Casey M. turning into top six forwards, I'll be happy.
  25. I disagree. I think that 74 75 team had a lot of really good hockey players. Is part of your assumption that players today are in better shape, have better coaching and more information? That might make a big difference, but I don't know how much I'd love to see the game! I'd love to watch the 99 team take on the 06 squad!
