I was thinking that his release was kinda slow. The snap was really fast but I couldn't tell if the lead up was a fake or part of his release.

About 6 inches. Man made rinks. Some idiots came and broke both of them. Like, if one pond breaks under your feet, fine. I can understand that you're excited about skating. But breaking both ponds is a crime against winter and you should be pummeled by Deslauriers.

Risto was picked because he's good at hockey. I don't buy giving Kevin Devine all the credit, either. Darcy was the GM, the Risto pick was his. Darcy was bad at drafting forwards. He was ineffective and sat on his hands for way too long. He waited too long to make trades, which likely means he overvalued his guys. We don't have to make up stuff that he was bad at.

Darcy got us Larsson, McCabe, and Risto though so it's not all bad. Darcy was still terrible, it must be said.

I think Bogo is an average #4. With his price tag and how often he's injured, he's not worth keeping around long term. We're definitely agreed on that. Our D group needs work in the offseason, but I'm optimistic that GMTM'll get it done.

Heath Ledger... is that you? Bogo usually misses 20 or so games a year, right? I don't think it's so unreasonable to expect him to be around for most of the remainder of this season.

I actually feel way better about the defence than I did before the season started. Risto has been what I expected, a young stud getting better. Kulikov is also what I expected, a solid top 4 guy. McCabe has been good, showing that he's skilled and tough enough to play top 4, even as young as he is. Franson has been so much better than last year, looking like a solid 5 rather than barely a 7. Gorges is Gorges and Bogosian is hurt. No surprises there. We still need a #2, and I'd like better/younger talent on the third pairing (Guhle next year?), but I'm pleasantly surprised with how good the D looks. If Bogo can somehow stay healthy, a top 4 of him, Risto, McCabe, and Kulikov should be good enough to sneak into the playoffs. The D was probably helped by Bylsma running the NJ Trap while Eichel was out, so we'll see how they progress with our forwards pushing the pace more.

I almost hopped in on the late night posting, but I was too embarassed about the sexual nature of my hypothetical posts.

So happy it's snowing. I'm a little sad that it'll delay the ponds a bit. Tomorrow was my target day, but I'm starting to doubt that they'll be ready. I really don't wanna crack the ice and set the whole thing back another week (like my brother ALWAYS does).

Arguing that people are blinded by fairy tale expectations and need to blame SOMEONE (Bylsma) is not only itself a fairy tale, but insults the intellects of those that are actually watching the games and analyzing them rather than just being a contrarian. Dan has no sense of when to reward players during a game. Girgensons had his best game this year against the Caps earlier this week and stayed on the 4th line the entire game.

Right after I said it they almost scored. Just like right after I defended Franson Kuznetsov made him look stupid.
