off topic Breaking Bad *SPOILER ALERT*
qwksndmonster replied to qwksndmonster's topic in The Aud Club
I am Gustavo kill? Swamp did you mistake Sabre space with /r/circlejerk? My top 5 episode endings: 5) Season 1 Episode 5 "Gray Matter" This is the second time an episode ends with no music (the first being "Skyler, I have to tell you something." in episode 3). Walt goes over to Jesse's house after agreeing to go through treatment and says "Wanna cook?" What a way to jolt the audience with excitement after 2 White family oriented episodes. 4) Season 3 Episode 4 "Green Light" Victor throws Walt half of Jesse's money at a stoplight. I think my love for this ending is tied in heavily with my love for "The Valley of the Sun" by Buddy Stuart, a song that very few people would know about today if it wasn't for Breaking Bad (I certainly wouldn't). "The two of us are one" lyric (Walt/Heisenberg) was a nice touch. That last organ chord along with the shot of the green light gives me chills every time. I love the tonal dissonance of the song and the clandestine activities the green light is alluding to. Reminds me a lot of the effect of the music in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. 3) Season 3 Episode 7 "One Minute" After Hank kills Marco Salamanca, the shot of the entire parking lot with the only sound being the blaring car alarm is stunning. The first time I saw it I said "Holy ######!" aloud about 3 times. 2) Season 3 Episode 10 "Fly" and Season 5 Episode 4 "Fifty One" They were too similar, so I copped out and put them both here. Fly is a haunting silent ending where Walt looks up from his bed to see the symbol of his guilt (and main antagonist of the episode) sitting on the flashing red light of the smoke detector. Fifty One ends with Walt much more relaxed in his own bed, while the camera does an extreme close up on the second hand ticking on his watch. The last two ticks sound like a gun cocking. The first time I watched it, I thought it was just Walter's time ticking away. Then I remembered Mike's "You're a time bomb, tick tick ticking." Add that to the fact that the watch is sitting on The Leaves of Grass, and you have one of the most meaningful endings of any episode in the series. 1) Season 4 Episode 11 "Crawl Space" I have never experienced a scene that scares me so much the 7th time I watched it. Walt's madness, Skyler's terrified face, Marie's voice on the answering machine, and the sound track create a moment of sheer sublime terror. This scene, coupled with the gun spinning scene set to "We are Born When We Die" by Apollo Sunshine in the beginning of episode 12 are just beautiful. -

I was thinking about this earlier, and I would absolutely love it if Skyler got to exact revenge on Walt for ruining her life. I can't conjure up a prediction, as the show is just too damned unpredictable, but I want to see how Lydia and Meth Damon play a role in Walt's downfall. I also want to see Lydia and Walt hook up, because those two are just too similar. They both are pretty damned good at getting people not to kill them, and they use their kids as an excuse. Friends of mine have also suggested that Jr. will be revealed to be on the blue. It would certainly give meaning to how many times he excuses himself from the house to go hang with Louis. On the other hand, it would make perfect sense for nothing to come from this as well. Just teenagers hanging out. -
lol im a sabers fan and ima go route for filly If you're really going to root for Philly, then don't claim that you were ever a Sabres fan
-
They look wider to me, but I can't tell if it's just the picture.
-
Bills have the backs to help out Manuel big time, but maybe not the line anymore. If they can find someone to start at LG who can run block better than Levitre (shouldn't be that hard), then they can lean on the run/play action game. Manuel can sling it beautifully and we have at the speed at WR. Doesn't hurt that he's fast, either.

I bet at least 6 out of the 8 episodes are going to be crazier than any episode previously released. It's gonna be a dead sprint to the finish. I've watched this teaser about ~20 times and I get chills at "look on my works, ye mighty, and despair" every single time. Bryan Cranston you are so sexy. -
I've been non stop watching the show over and over and listening to the insider podcasts or a month now. Finally:
-
Stevie'll be fine in a week. Kevin Kolb did hurt himself slipping on a rubber mat, though
-
Every three games he would collect 1 penalty minute, while collecting 2 or more points.

Beyond Blue and Gold: Sabres.com series

Nothing about Pegula's involvement in the video seemed surprising or new. We know he likes being involved in the conversations, but not how much sway he has in hockey decisions. It'd be really interesting to hear a full couple minutes of hockey conversation from the brain trust. -
Ew, sports center is on those little table monitors.
-
That's a lot of young, Liger.
-
He sounds pretty awesome when he's angry. I think he'll be a heck of a lot better than Gailey.
-
I'm pretty excited to see him in an aggressive defensive system. That's enough to have my optimism. http://www.wgr550.com/Mario-Williams-absent-from-Bills-camp-once-again/16939557 -Listen to the audio with Marrone at the bottom of the article. Got a bit of Torts in 'em

I also think that there are vets on the roster right now that can help the rooks develop for at least 4 years, and help them make the playoffs in 2015 or 16. Leino, Ehrhoff, Vanek, and Ott are a good stable of vets to take tough minutes. Adding a shutdown center and nasty 4/5 D to the vet list would be nice.
-
I understood what you were saying, I just don't share your concerns about Mario. I haven't seen anything yet that indicates to me that we can't build our defense around him. Then again, it's clear that you picked up on something from reading the texts (I never did), and you've got sharp instincts so you could be right. It seems to me that there are a lot of weird football players out there, and it's hard to tell which personality quirks are potentially bad for football. I also don't usually worry about off the field stuff.

I don't understand the Leafs being named in the same breath as the Sabres right now. And the Oilers have to turn it around sometime, right?
-
More referring to the fact that the Sabres are in a bad position and in the middle of the dog days of the offseason, while the Bills actually have some sort of hope and training camp just started. I have no idea what Mario's injury is right now but it sounds like a plantar fasciitis flare up.
-
Attacking you is selfish? And there's a difference between "negative about everything" and "negative about Darcy." I didn't mean to hurt your feelings for months on end. My reaction as well.
-
The wrist injury that he had surgery on week 5? That's what people are ripping Mario for? Ughhh the Bills board is actually better than this one right now.
-
You're right. Not accentuating the negative is sugarcoating things.
-
That's the argument back at Taro's breakdown? The teams that are good are good? Wowza. Talk about grade school tee ball vs. the New York Yankees.
-
It's fine to respect successful teams. Comparing absolutely everything about good teams to the Sabres is exhausting when you do it at every given chance. We're bad. Everyone knows. Teams that are better than us are in a better position to win. It's a pretty well known concept. We're Sabres fans, though. Going out of your way to bash them constantly is needless. Sorry for being so apathetic

You can play Bergeron 18-20 of the hardest minutes a night and he'll shut down the opposition while throwing up ~70 points. Lucic is a great physical presence that can open up the ice and score. He slumps offensively sometimes, as do all power forwards. Both are important but without Bergeron the Bs forwards would be much worse than without Lucic.
-
Definitely Bergeron, but he's a pretty special player.
