  1. LPF is correct about the speed and homogenous color and "flavor" you get with margine but IMHO nothing beats the taste of butter and Franks. The reason most recommend the long cooking time while making the sauce with butter is because butter contains water and milk solids. Reducing the sauce boils off the water which allows the fat in the butter to stick to the wings better. I personally use clarified butter when making wings or fingers. If you clarify the butter you can basically warm the sauce on the stove for a few minutes and use. Butter can be clarified in the microwave in no time at all - just google "how do I clarify butter using microwave" it's quick and easy. As for the wings, if you like crispy evenly cooked wings don't use frozen. Make sure they are thawed out and make sure to pat dry the wings using paper towels. Thawed dried wings will cook evenly and crisp up and you won't have to worry about what happens when you mix hot oil and water.

  3. I have two 200 level tickets 6k - I was on the waiting list for 3 years and don't want to give up my seats. I will let the funds sit until January and then decide long term.
  4. Wow I didn’t realize the 2 million jobs you quoted would be funded by free money. I would think if we have an extra billion dollars lying around we would do better paying down the deficit. I do agree that even a temp job is a job – but seriously read the bill. Let’s peal this onion back a little… The bill cost one billion dollars over 5 years, that’s about a billion dollars more than NOTHING. The bill was already paid for as you claim it was, then why did Mr. Reid need to introduce a motion to wave all applicable budgetary disciplines for this bill? Specifically “Pay as You Go” The bill caps “grant” monies for first responders at 10% per year that a measly 20 million dollars a year out of 200 million averaged over the 5 years. Let’s just say the average first responder makes $50,000 a year, the bill provides at most grant money for 400 first responders. The bill directs the Secretary of Labor to pilot the One-Stop Center(s) for surfacing the web to look for employment. The pilot program has a cap on the number of centers at a handful and gives the SOL 455 days to report back to the Committee on Veterans Affairs if it’s even feasibly and advisable to provide the services. Let’s jump back to your original comment to Hank where you claimed that the bill would provide 2 million jobs for post 9/11 vets. Can you provide backup for this claim? According to what I’ve seen the unemployment numbers for post 9/11 vets sits around 230,000 that’s about a 1,720,000 gap in the numbers. Even if we totally pulled out of Afghanistan and the 100,000 or so troops left all magically became unemployed the numbers just don’t add up. You can find the answer to your question why the Republicans voted against it here - http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/R?r112:FLD001:S56397 Lastly I did take into full consideration that Obama does have a full time job, as reported he was busy in Henderson NV doing what he is qualified to do best http://www.democrati...d.com/101763102 - My comment was in regards to Al Gore’s that you posted. No need to try and spin it.
  5. I'm also a vet - rode a nuke powered ICBM submarine from 1979-1986 and before last night’s debate I was also undecided like Hank and now am leaning towards Romney. Are you aware that Veteran’s Job Corp Bill (S.3457) actually doesn’t create any long term jobs at all? It does offer grant monies to “agencies” that hire post 9/11 vets in law enforcement, firefighting and in parks and conservation. These jobs will of course only last as long as the grant monies. Local and state agencies are budget strapped as it is, they won’t be able to fund the additional jobs after the grant monies have been extinguished. It’s almost humorous to think that a bill is even necessary to give post 9/11 vets preference in law enforcement and firefighting because they don’t already receive preference (?). What about the unemployed pre 9/11 vets? Our service didn’t matter as much as the post 9/11 vets? The bill while in principle is great it falls short in actually creating anywhere near 2 million jobs. It does create nice one stop centers so vets can go surf the internet looking for a job because those services aren’t currently provided at the state level… Oh wait NYSDOL does provide those services, must be it would be better to do it at the Federal level. As for the comments from the creator of the internet – the POTUS was in Henderson NV for 4 days preparing for the debate. If the POTUS was jet lagged from the long flight from LAS to DEN we have one sick POTUS and we should be concerned.
