With Asplund traded I'm hoping this guy can provide some competition for the 13th forward slot. For whatever reason Asplund Granato/Adams did not like what they saw from Asplund and he was stapled to bench. Hopefully we can see some sort of rotation between Greenway, Hinistroza and Peterka - who I really feel could use a game or two to watch from above.

Remember when Tim Murray moved up in the draft specifically targeting Asplund? Always had high hopes for him. Sucks that the return is a 7th but not surprising considering he was our 13th forward and we played Rochester call ups over him.

Power play goal here would be nice.

Maybe win? I have zero expectations tonight. Agree with above about the goalie selection. I've loved a lot of what I've seen from the team this year but there's also been some head scratchingly poor decisions from Granato and Adams. It's like watching McDermott throw a challenge flag.

I care less about the specific player and more that every other team we're competing for the playoffs with is getting better while we lose Tuch and Dahlin and we've only brought in....a 3rd round pick and Stillman. Still two days left to do something so I'll keep the pitchfork corked for now.

I hate these games where everything feels out of sync, whiffed passes/shots, passes an inch too far ahead of the stick. This just feels like a loss brewing. Still time to turn it around, but jeez. Do something!

The closer we get to the end of the regular season the more I don't understand how we're going to make up the 5 or 6 games on hand with them.

Lots of other teams in the wild card mix in action tonight: Detroit vs Ottawa - I think we root for Ottawa here, a win puts them at 64 points tied with Detroit. If we lose we're only 2 points above that, a win puts us 4 points up. Florida vs Tampa Islanders vs Wild Pens vs Preds We need to beat the bad teams so we can absorb losses against the better teams. Just win, baby.

They can be equally bad in different ways. I'm giving him 5 games to soak in the Granato effect before I pass any judgement, unless of course he's making plays like Mitt's boneheaded drop pass.

I agree, Bryson/Clague never had an edge to their game, we need someone to out muscle the other team. My fear is that just because he's a physical player doesn't mean he still wont' suck, aka the Rasmus Ristolainin effect. He'll hit anything that moves but in doing so takes himself out of position, only without any offensive instinct.

Need a win against Columbus because the upcoming schedule will be a test. Bank those points.
