Evander Kane arrested on misdemeanor charge for June nightclub incidentLTS replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club The part of things that throws me though is that, as far as I know, and I assume others, up until joining the Sabres, Kane was never arrested or charged with a crime right? There were his social media posts, the stories of his clashing with teammates, but legally he was clean? So, you'd not know the guy would be on this path. I'm sure they have access to more inside information than people outside of NHL circles, so I have faith that the risk wasn't THAT great. Still.. I think it's safe to say that if you knew he would be charged with these crimes you probably wouldn't trade for the guy. That seems that obvious. "Hey, we know you'll get arrested and charged with some crimes that involve violence against women but we really want you on this team." I don't see that thought/phrase ever existing.

Opportunity.. I mean we were going to get a shelter/rescue dog or dogs no matter what. These girls met all our criteria from a basic mix and size guesstimate. In talking with the rescue it's amazing how many animals were displaced. It's the story you never hear about. They are doing their best but the rescues in Louisiana themselves are insane trying to move them all over the country and begging other programs to take them because they have so many.

Just adds to what I love about him. His offensive zone ability is superb. He's a complete player. We see him hammer guys in front of his net, lays a big hit here or there, has great vision and a shot that can get the puck to the net all with very solid skating. As the rest of the team improves he'll really begin to stand out as a player at the highest level.

OT: Ken Block shoots amazing "drifting" video in BuffaloLTS replied to Claude Balls's topic in The Aud Club Sigh. "Niagra Frontier Transportation Authority" It does not rhyme with the little blue pill. 7:41 of the video. Other than that.. cool.

I would agree. That said.. he was operating with 3.5 limbs versus 4 full. Either way... I've also now seen (not in Rio but elsewhere) a person who was missing parts of all 4 limbs swimming. Just to see it was amazing.. and inspirational.

I believe it's accurate. I was able to trial it as part of my EA Access pass. The game is improved. They released a gameplay update yesterday and I think that brought back some of the stupidity from NHL 16 but I have not played enough to say for sure. Still not convinced to buy it yet. Probably a wait on this one and potentially get it as part of EA Access later.

Pics of my new puppies.. not the greatest photos but I figured the photography thread was a good place for it. The first one is River, the second Heron. They were named by the rescue. They were rescued from the floods in Louisiana as a full litter with their mother. They are just about 13 weeks old. Heron is the name of the street they were rescued from.

I watched swimming and saw a swimmer who was missing part of one arm (forget which arm but from the elbow) win gold against swimmers with two arms in 100M backstroke. I don't understand the different classifications they use (which I presume are to try and "equate" the competition) but any time a guy missing part of an arm can beat swimmer who have both arms color me damn impressed. I heard a story about the US long jumper who is blind. Pretty damn cool. All of it is amazing on what these athletes do to compete given their situation.

Shepherd/Beagle/Hound mix it's believed. I can put pics in the picture thread. :) They were brought up to Rochester from Lousiana as part of a rescue from the flooding. http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/24128-photography-thread/?do=findComment&comment=857585 See, I never opened the thread. I saw it and thought "I don't want to talk about the Bills". Apparently it saved my sanity. Don't let a few "off-topic" threads derail you from the important hockey conversation we always have!

Robin Lehner: The goalie we need or the goalie we deserve?LTS replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club Because looking psychotic on the ice is not enough? :) Less weight would be good. We'll see what happens.

Evander Kane arrested on misdemeanor charge for June nightclub incidentLTS replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club Not aware of the story on Setoguchi at all. The quote sounds like the guys were trying to keep him on track as he deals with alcoholism?

You can't make a trade like that. The analysts heads would not be able to comprehend it. Marketers would have to find a greater superlative than what they used for the Subban trade day. It would be chaos. I can only imagine what it would be like on here.

So it's bad Risto is playing too much but Jack should skate harder? I'm not Goldilocks.. not quite sure where "just right" lies on the scale. ;) I want to watch.. but some damn fool went and got two puppies yesterday (we had lost our last dog in April after 18 years) so I was busy last night. That said... the wife is happy, the kids are ecstatic and I have two pretty damn cool puppies in the house. One of them has shown an interest in watching the TV. Hope she's a hockey fan. :)

So a secondary point is meaningless? Holy hell, I better change the message to my kids to tell them to start being greedy and only score goals because setting them up is meaningless. There's no point in making great passes or opening up the ice for your teammates. Just score goals you stupid idiot children. The guy had a point. He played a great 200ft. game. What was he supposed to do? Hell, you don't even know what the coach asked him to do out there. I think we've had a little too much Ted Nolan (work hard and it's all good). Despite that brainwashing people seem to have, coaches do dictate a strategy and set a method of play that players are expected to work within. Jack Eichel does not skate like a hamster on a wheel. That's not his game. He "floats" faster and more accurately than most players who've played the game and he CAN skate fast and deceptively so when he needs to. I'm amazed at the criticism. Little McDavid that Could is out there spinning his wheels saying "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can" (get a point). And Jack is all like "I already did" and people are slamming him? I've not yet read what Jack was SUPPOSED to do last night that would have made his efforts receive praise from the naysayers. I've seen "float". Brett Hull floated a lot... he sucked.

Every other player? Meh. I didn't say shouldn't though. Oh.. and for all that.. he had a point. In more important news... Braden Holtby's mask and it will be auctioned off with proceeds going to Gord's charity of choice.

The guy is the head of the IOC and he can't see that his schedule should be focused on the premier event for one of his constituent organizations? I can only imagine the items on his schedule that are more important that attending an event that occurs every 4 years. (the funeral aside)

Wow. So, I don't care what Eichel does in this tournament. I don't root for Team NA. If the wants to conserve his energy and the output for the Sabres season I am completely fine with that. Moreover, this was an exhibition game in the tournament. It was meaningless. But hey.. because McDavid was on the ice and a few other players out there chose to up their energy output it must mean Jack could do more. Well, it likely does mean he COULD do more but WHY should he?

You didn't like the gose? I'm shocked.

Glad you got it. I've had similar problems with a bad video card in the past. I was going to ask if you had onboard (seems fairly standard these days) and you had found it so excellent on finding the problem and of course unfortunately needing to find a new video card.

Just spent the last 8 days on vacation with the family and managed to try a ton of new breweries and beers. Officially only stopped at a few breweries however due to time constraints. Isley Brewing in Richmond was quite solid in their beer. It was a fun place and there are are a few other brewers in the Scott's Addition neighborhood. Ended up needing lunch and went around the corner to Boulevard Burgers which had flights so I sampled a few there as well. Their Ruby Red Slippers (session IPA with ruby red grapefruit) was pretty damn good. Overall I'd say I was highly impressed with the beers from O'Connor brewing out of Norfolk. I also had quite a few good Hardywood beers (Hoplar is a double IPA aged on tulip poplar wood found in Virginia). It's not a strong wood taste and even if it weren't in there the beer would be impressive. O'Connor's El Guapo IPA (agave) was one I kept returning to over and over. Quite tasty. Spring House Brewing - Lexicon Devil is a worth grapefruit pale Commonwealth - Wapatoolie was a good tropical IPA Coelacanth - Coelia is a rosemary lemon wheat beer that would be perfect on 90+ degree days (it didn't suck at 83 degrees either) Anyway.. it was a great time. The sheer number of breweries popping up in the Norfolk/Williamsburg/VA Beach is right on par with Rochester which I swear opened another 2 while I was away for week. Going to crash soon though. They'll all do well until they realize there can only be 1 hyper local spot and then you've got to gain a much larger following to exist. At this point it's become the pop-up business model. Open a brewery, the tasting room, and bring in food trucks. Hope people show up which they will for awhile.

One of those moments where the host nation getting into the tournament automatically is a joke. Oh well. Now to see if the NHL sends the players.
