  1. I don't need fighting in the game because most fights these days are staged or occur from a clean play. If fights were much more organic and just occurred because two guys are going at it and finally say.. enough.. let's throw down, then I am still good with it. But fighting just to fight is dumb and even more ignorant is the fight in response to a clean, hard check. That said... the NHL players can choose not to fight. Foligno did not have to fight. I know there's some belief of a "code" but if they don't care about their own well being who am I to get in the way?
  2. The Never Ever League is very much for those who have never played. Having coached out of that rink last year and played there as well I have seen plenty of the Never Ever League when its on the ice. I think it's great that they put it together. Here's another... not QUITE as Never Ever.. but I think it still gets a lot of first timers. http://www.paullouisarena.com/content/adult-hockey-league
  3. I was in the middle of posting one and then I went upstairs and ate breakfast.... you completed the job. We are playing the team that modeled their mascot after Auston Matthews tattoo. Jack should be motivated. I've become convinced that Buffalo is going to be visited by Vigo soon. There's a ton of pink slime flowing under the city. The Kings have a rookie on their top line who is from Buffalo. The Sabres have Jordan Nolan returning against the team that dropped him. We have story lines inside the big story line. I'll still be watching even after watching two youth hockey games today. I'm not rescinding my fan card and I refuse to give into the dark side.
  4. I think there are a few other rinks in Rochester that have something similar as well. Of course it's Rochester. I will have to look around to see which ones.
  5. Are you mentally weak? ;)
  6. I couldn't disagree more with your assessment of what he inherited. As for his plan... nothing has changed since he took over the team. It's as he said it was. If you aren't sure of it, go back and find him talking about it. There is an appearance of things being worse than they are.
  7. It's a team built for its fan base.
  8. You have to believe that if Falk was available he'd have been in the lineup. We know Bogo will be whenever he returns. At that point one of Tennyson, Antipin, or Beaulieu will be out. I am sure I would make it Beaulieu first. At some point I also consider bringing up someone from Rochester just to see what happens. Fedun?
  9. I find a certain sense of irony when fragile fans call out players as fragile. What I see, more than anything right now, are players who are not all on the same page. 10 new faces in the lineup and a change in coach and system. It will take time and all of the factors don't occur in a vacuum in that they can be examined independently. Last night I saw two players going to the same place at the same time on the forecheck. That's not good. It's fine if you are 2-1-2 forecheck and the second guy is there to get the loose puck but last night it was two guys going to cause the puck to be broken free. In the defensive zone the ability to cycle with the offense and allow coverage of a player to move from one player to another takes time. It's like building an offensive line in football. If one guy isn't sure where or what he should be doing the entire line starts to look real bad. The Sabres are in the same boat right now. You take that frustration and realize it begins to impact the rest of their games because they are all very knowledgeable about hockey and they all have pride in how they play. They don't want to lose (despite people on here thinking that way). It's going to get in your head. Professional or not, it happens to everyone. There was improvement last night. Just not enough. There may be a long way to go.... but that's the way it goes.
  10. Agreed. Ave he played the 2 on 1 like a champ. That was some solid PK work.
  11. I love the He-man commercial as much as I hate that DQ commercial.
  12. Good Lord. Those 2 together.
  13. That's how Jack needs to play, every shift.
  14. That play from Jack is why he's worth believing in. If he can get that lazy crap out of his game... Oh if he can.
  15. I feel like lost is a better fit. But it's real, very real.
  16. RJ just sent a message to the team. Look you lazy bastages. I'm old and beat cancer. I'm stepping it up to provide joy to Sabres fans. Your move boys.
  17. Vodka, lime, and Sabres. I can take anything.
  18. Wow.. I don't know that I've ever popped into this thread before.. believe it. I sure hadn't posted before. So, if any of you want to hire me out to be confrontational for you I'll give you a discount on my posted rates. Hell, if it's good enough I might even go pro bono. For Josie's alt-right vegan yoga instructor... the work I could do. That one might be a freebie.
  19. I hope so. Blowing it up would be perfect.
  20. Took me a few minutes and re-reads... I couldn't quite get why being in Connecticut was some kind of benefit over the rest of the East Coast... :) However.. yes.. 9:30 start time makes it more palatable.
  21. There is no 2nd and 3rd line... they are synonymous at the moment. There is the top line.. the one with Eichel and Kane and then there's the next 6 and the bottom 3.
  22. Dudacek... are you kidding me? I have no words.. you used all of them. Bravo sir.
  23. I'll be awake for the start of the game... their level of play will determine how long I try to stay awake.
  24. They already have disaster. Could it get worse? Possibly. But it's hard to say so far that it's not already a disaster.
  25. Not even remotely the same thing. Onto a more intelligent discussion. If you don't like what the Sabres are doing, then fine, you don't. If you don't like the team, then fine you don't. Everyone is at different levels of tolerances and some people just won't ever get that upset over the Sabres product on the ice because for them it's a form of entertainment even if its not entertaining at some times. What has happened lately on this forum is that people who are upset seem to want to call out those are not and make them lesser people. You are comparing them to domestic abuse victims which is an absolutely disgusting comparison. Others are yelling at them wasting their money, their time, etc. Seriously, why do people feel the need to spread their misery? Perhaps we need a thread called "Eternal Sabres Hell: A Thread for Miserable Fans and Trolls".
