  1. Talk about bounces... I’m here.. Hornitos Anejo in hand.... I’ve got a 1L bottle and 2 periods to go. Yeehaw.
  2. I expect tonight's game to go like the last one against the Predators.
  3. There's a chance. I'm trying to recall when the last roster update usually occurs but I want to say it's just before the playoffs.
  4. Facts get in the way of narratives. Stop getting in the way. :wallbash:
  5. You literally find the negative in everything. You know what? You have point? You know what else? I don't even remotely pretend to care. You are the seagull of this board.
  6. The only player brought in this year that is intended to be part of the long term future of this team is Scandella. Beaulieu was an acceptable 2 year contract to fill what appeared to be a lack of D depth. Nolan, Josefson, Pouliot are all here on 1 year contracts so the younger players can stay in Rochester to develop. That was always the strategy. See above. But you are missing on Scandella and Pouliot was a quality signing for 1 year for the money he commanded. I'm not sure you get it. There is no heat on Botterill right now. There will be next year if the team plays the same way. You assume Mittlestadt should be in the AHL after watching a single game? Are you choosing to disregard any possibility that he wasn't going to sign with Buffalo unless he was signed to an ELC and played in Buffalo this year? Even if that's not the case, Botterill wanted him in Buffalo for this year. The first year of his ELC is not all that important and I am not sure why you believe it is. Mittlestadt is under Sabre control for as long as it will take them to figure out how important he will be to the team. When his contracts end won't matter because a player will get their pay day when they deserve it. Fandom must be really tough when you completely disregard reality just to find a reason to complain about things.
  7. There's nothing not awesome about any of this. I love that the beer league guys stopped to watch him play... even the ref is in the picture.
  8. Just saying you are defending the stats aspect as its what you do. I'm not sure it makes a difference that you aren't a nutjob stats guy. :)
  9. I understand the need to defend what you do. However, you can only predict the probability of possibilities based on past information and only in rare circumstances do the factors of the past remain static. Therefore, future prognostications can be impacted by unforeseen variations in factors not accounted for in a model. Of course this should be obvious and is why statistics isn't a bulletproof science. It's just based on a lot more information than "How do you FEEEEEEL about it?" I'm not insinuating that you would feel otherwise and that you wouldn't acknowledge what I said, just saying it because of the second point you made. As for the second part, I understand again. People who read the phrase "most likely" and then choose to attack someone for when it doesn't happen are showing their ignorance by discounting the fact that the person stating "most likely" has already acknowledged that it might also NOT happen. But of course in our society today it's easier to attack the most inconsequential aspect of a persons statement than actually think.
  10. You've already moved MIttlestadt from center? What regression told you that would happen? :P I like these.. especially the first and if Third Reich didn't refer to what it referred to and instead some glorious moment of German history I think it would be the hands down winner. Unfortunately it does not. Pretty sure if I can't be as creative at this point...
  11. Good lord. Now we're arguing just to argue. At what point do you realize that you can either accept what the probabilities of a shooting percentage will be or you can accept what the possibilities of a shooting percentage will be? Probably won't be 23.3% Possibly could be 23.3% No one can prove anything until he has another season and there is a number to discuss. Every statistical nerd has been proven incorrect by an improbable outcome. Every statistical naysayer has been proven incorrect by an impossible prediction. These things happen.
  12. My kid has hockey practice tonight at 6:30... he wants to skip it to see Mittlestadt take the ice. I don't blame him. Good news for me is that I can stream the game so I won't miss it! I almost (ALMOST) bought tickets for tonight's game. Mittlestadt has already proven value as the cheapest ticket is no longer $6, but $28. Should be good.. if nothing else it will give the sharks something to tear apart on the forums for the remainder of the season and into the off-season. I wonder how many more pull-up references we'll have to go through...
  13. It's a demotion to basically take the 2nd string of what Eichel does on the 1st unit? Also, that's pretty much where he played at WJC and in Minnesota I believe.
  14. I like your thinking... but I would suspect that it's more the universe balancing itself out between these two specific players. The high ankle sprain has to also balance itself out separately. :)
  15. Some day... some day.
  16. Well.. his former team has a new coach. https://www.ncaa.com/news/icehockey-men/article/2018-03-27/minnesota-hockey-hires-former-assistant-bob-motzko-15th-head
  17. Careful fellas... something about karma and Shea Weber's slapshot aren't making me take joy in his injury.
  18. The Vegas Knights are trying an interesting take on encouraging season ticket holders to not sell playoff seats. The Knights Vow". Be curious to see how it works. From the Golden Knights’ postseason ticket announcement: 1. VGK Full Season Ticket Members will be automatically enrolled in the “Knights Vow,” which provides the most significant price savings off the single game ticket price. As part of the Knights Vow program, members will receive tickets electronically via FlashSeats shortly after dates/times of the first-round home playoff games are set Resale through StubHub – the Golden Knights exclusive, authorized secondary partner – will not be available under this option. 2. VGK Full Season Ticket Members may elect to opt out of the Knights Vow in order to have the opportunity to sell their tickets through the Golden Knights exclusive, authorized secondary partner, StubHub. However, their savings off the single game ticket price under this option will not be as significant as those who are enrolled in the Knights Vow program (Option 1 above). http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2018/03/27/vegas-has-an-interesting-plan-to-keep-out-opposing-fans-in-the-playoffs/?sf185667405=1
  19. How many goals he plans on scoring over the next few games?
  20. Cool that you get first round free. I'm hoping to make a first round game too. All in, if others are all in. I'll probably be attending anyway with a friend I was hanging out with tonight.
  21. 69. You know it.
  22. Thank you for mentioning this. Right, yet Johnny Hockey in Calgary must be too small for the NHL. C'mon. Have you been reading the threads here recently? The Sabres could sign the equivalent of the Gretzky Oilers and this place would say they suck.
  23. Sorry I missed the game tonight... they beat the Leafs and I never want to miss that. I was occupied with something much more important tonight (no snarky comments please). I'm glad we were able to celebrate a win over the Leafs.
  24. Good points... but its the playoffs! :)
