  1. Joe Buscaglia Retweeted Matthew Bové‏Verified account @Matt_Bove 4m4 minutes ago The Buffalo Sabres have fired both General Manager Tim Murray & Head Coach Dan Bylsma @WKBW
  2. I know, I was just being a little sarcastic. Anyways, I'm just glad Golisano didn't sell the Sabres to that clown.
  3. "Via the Associated Press, the Buffalo Fan Alliance has found several press releases referring to Rogers communications consultant Roger Rai as part of an ownership group “attempting to acquire and move the Buffalo Bills to Toronto.” http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/08/14/report-documents-hint-at-plan-to-move-bills-to-toronto/ He contacted Golisano about purchasing the Sabres and offered more money than the Pegula's. He also wanted to move the team to Hamilton, Ont.
  4. Forgot about Regis. But it was Regier's idea to tank. The last few years Regier was the GM, he made a lot of terrible draft picks which also set the team back.
  5. Good catch! I forgot about Regis owning the team, oh well, that's what happens when you get old!
  6. You could say that about the Sabres, but every Sabres fan that has been following the team for more than ten years can tell you that Golisano was a "bargain basement" owner, meaning he only saw the Sabres as a business and had financial mandates on the team. Golisano hired Darcy Regier and it was his idea to start "the tank." After the 2007 offseason debacle, how do you think fans would react/respond to Golisano if Regier was still the Sabres GM and they continued to suck today? In regards to the Bills and the NFL not letting them move, think again. The NFL has been wanting a team in LA for many years and they have two: Chargers and Rams. Also, the Raiders were approved for relocation and they have a very passionate fan base just like the Bills. So if the NFL owners approved for three teams to move, why wouldn't they have approved the move of the Bills to Toronto if JBJ purchased the team?
  7. Amen! The Pegula's are new sports owners and are still learning on the job. It's not like the Sabres were a Stanley Cup Caliber team and Terry said "no" to big contracts and don't resign the teams top two centers (like Golisano did with Drury and Briere). When the Pegula's took over, they had a bunch of overrated wingers, no good Centers and an above average goalie, that team wasn't built to win a Stanley Cup.
  8. People are still upset because Uncle Terry promised the Stanley Cup in three years of buying the team. Get over it already!
  9. It's apparent this team has given up and want DB fired.
  10. I was willing to give Bylsma more time to see if Murray got him better defenders, but If he has lost the lockeroom, then it's time for him to go.
  11. That's my favorite picture of Leryn Franco.
  12. I'd hate to see people's reactions if Mr. Scrooge [Golisano] still owned the team.
  13. I agree, Roy was the difference maker for the Canadiens that year. Another thing I remember from 1993 was the Sabres finally beat the Bruins and advanced past the first round of the playoffs, plus the Sabres swept them 4-0. I think it was their first series win in over a decade at that point. I always hated losing to the Bruins in the playoffs so it was great to not only beat them, but to sweep them in the process (it would be great if the Bills could do that to the Patriots (go 2-0 in the divisional regular season matchups)).
  14. The 92-93 season was a fun season. Lafontaine had 148 points [53G, 95A], Mogilny had 127 points [76G, 51A], Hawerchuk had 96 points [16G, 80A] and Andreychuk had 61 points in 52 games [29G, 32A] before being traded to Toronto for Grant Fuhr. It's too bad Hasek didn't become "the Dominator" that season that way we could have kept Andreychuk. IMO, the 92-93 team, with a dominant Hasek plus Andreychuk would have won the cup. The Sabres ended up losing to the eventual Stanley Cup Champs that year [Montreal], each game was 4-3 (3 out of 4 went to OT). Will we ever see a Sabres team that has two players with 100 points or more in a single season again?
  15. Problem with the Bills is that they barely draft QB's and spend way too many draft picks on RB's and DB's. In the 20 years since Kelly retired, the Bills drafted five QB's: Cardale Jones, EJ Manuel, Levi Brown, Trent Edwards and JP Losman. With playing against an elite QB in the division [brady], you need to have a very good/elite QB to compete against him. Back in the 80's and 90's, the AFC East had Marino and Kelly as the top two QB's. Since Brady has been the starter, he's had no real competition in the division against him. IMO, Sabres are close. They just need to bolster their defense and they'll be fine. In regards to Bucky, both him and Sullivan are two terrible hacks and should have been fired a long time ago.
  16. Some team will overpay him. Gilmore wants top 5 CB money, but he's not going to get that from the Bills. I wish the Bills would stop drafting CB's/Safeties in the first round as they are rarely resigned beyond their rookie contract, hence it being a waste of pick as your first round picks should be impact players that stay on your team for eight to ten years.
  17. I agree with that. I think the way the Sabres are playing, they'll draft in the Top 10 again.
  18. Tim Murray stated he was not looking at a five year rebuild with this team as he traded assets to get players like ROR, Kane, Bogosian and Lehner to make the Sabres a better team sooner than later. So far, the results have not been great. Granted, the Sabres best player [Eichel] was out with a high ankle sprain to start the season and other players have had their share of injuries. Did Murray pull the plug on the tank job too soon? Should Murray have tried tanking for another year or two to be able to draft in the Top 5 for one or two more years? Should Murray have kept all of those draft picks instead of trying to accelerating the rebuild process?
  19. I saw Disturbed over the summer, they put on an awesome show! Next show I'm planning on going to is Testament, Sepultura and Prong in Richmond, VA in April. +1 Cannibal Corpse is awesome. I'm in the video for "Staring through the eyes of the dead" when they filmed it at the Icon in 1994.
  20. I used to but after reading their always negative and mostly nonsensical articles, I stopped. As soon as I scroll down and see if it's one of those two hacks, then I immediately close the article.
  21. Okay, makes sense. Thanks!
