  1. Holy crap, that guy sounds exactly like Phil Anselmo! I've seen Crowbar a few times in concert whenever they opened for other bands. The guys in the band are very cool. I've seen Pantera, Superjoint and Hellyeah in concert, but haven't seen Down. It's a shame both Abbott brothers are gone now. I have a couple songs from Power Trip on my phone. Exmortus is another good (newer) thrash band. I'm hoping to see them again when they come to Richmond next month. Demolition Hammer is doing a show in Baltimore next month, I haven't seen them since 1991 when they opened for Malevolent Creation and Devastation, so I'm hoping to go to that show as well. I love going to Haunted Halloween places. 13th Gate in Baton Rouge and The House of Shock in New Orleans are in my Top 3 favorites. Whenever I go back to New Orleans, I plan to go in October so I can go back to both places. Here's a newer thrash band called Lich King. In "Thrash Resurgence," the singer's voice sounds a lot like Billy Milano from M.O.D./S.O.D.
  2. Nice! I can definitely see the appeal. I went to New Orleans for the first time two years ago, I'd love to go back. I'm still craving a Ferdi and Shrimp Po' Boy from Mother's. What other metal bands are you into? Some of my favorites are: Slayer, Testament, Wrathchild America/Souls at Zero, M.O.D./S.O.D., Danzig, Samhain, Misfits, Megadeth. I got tickets this summer to see The Offspring and Ozzy's retirement tour.
  3. Toranaga had two albums between the late 80’s/early 90’s: Bastard Ballads and God’s Gift. They broke up for about 20 years then came back with “Righteous Retribution.” I first heard them when I saw their video for “The Shrine” on Headbangers Ball back in the early 90’s. You can find their stuff on YouTube.
  4. Nice!!! We just saw Slayer's retirement tour about two weeks ago when they came to VA. Here's one I've been listening to for a while now:
  5. I think Terry should hire his buddy Sean McDermott to run the Sabres :w00t:
  6. Wrecks Ryan didn't get a full two seasons either.
  7. Agreed. Overall, Nolan made his players work hard and benched them when they weren't. I'd rather have a coach like that compared to one who's soft and wants players to fit into a particular system. I agree about Bylsma and Rolston. IMO, Nolan has a reputation of fighting/clashing with GM's, so I highly doubt we'll ever see him coach in the NHL again.
  8. Disagree. It was during the "tank" time and Murray got rid of all the good talent on the team. Even at the trade deadline, Murray traded away whatever talent he could so the Sabres would finish in last place. It would have been nice to see how Nolan did with the team the following year.
  9. Hopefully, Botterill can get some assets for ROR. I don't think keeping ROR on the roster next season is a good option considering his demeanor.
  10. Leryn Franco is great eye candy. Glad to see Sabrespace hasn't restricted photos the way TBD has.
  11. I want Ted Nolan back. Nolan made sure everyone played hard and gave a good effort. Unfortunately, Murray screwed him over and wanted his own coach. Doubt we'll ever see Nolan back in Buffalo. IMO, Housley should be given a quarter of the season. If the team still looks like they did this past year, then it's time for him to go. If the Sabres still look awful at the end of next season, then it's time to can Botterill.
  12. A big reason why the Sabres are in the position they are is because Murray screwed up the tank/rebuild in multiple ways. Murray tried speeding up the rebuild by trading for established young players such as Kane, O’Reilly, Bogosian, etc... By doing that, Murray traded away numerous draft picks that the team was stockpiling as well as trade away a lot of prospects. Also, Murray tried building the Sabres the same way Doug Whaley was building the Bills and that was by having a collection of talented players vice building a team that can play a particular system and that could/should have chemistry together. I think Botterill/Housley should redo the roster so it fits in with what Housley is trying to do. With the way the team has been playing, no player should be safe from trade.
  13. I liked the last 20 minutes of the movie, but it took too long to build up.
  14. A big thing that I like about the new Marvel movies is how they intertwine other Marvel characters in the movies. I liked the last Captain America as it was kind of like an all out "Avengers" brawl. I'm interested to see Tony Stark's role in Spider Man (plus, always love seeing Marisa Tomei).
  15. I agree Promo, those were the best Sabres uniforms. It seems the Sabres had their most success when they wore those jerseys.
  16. I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I actually agree with Bucky Gleason on this article. He nailed everything on the head. http://buffalonews.com/2017/07/03/bucky-gleason-ten-years-later-sabres-still-feeling-cause-effect-drury-briere/
  17. Hopefully, 10 years after the dismantling of a great team, the events over the past few days are the catalyst for a new great hockey team in Buffalo.
  18. ???????????? Oh yeah, Regier really addressed the position with arguably the greatest center in team history, Ville Leino. ????????????
  19. If we could have kept one of those guys, I wish it would have been Briere as he's had the most points in a season since LaFontaine. Briere was always great in the playoffs. I think Regier was PO'd at Briere for going to arbitration the year before which could be another reason why he wasn't resigned.
  20. It Comes at Night was terrible! It lacked a story and made absolutely no sense! I enjoyed The Mummy as it was a modern-time sequel. The new Transformers movie was really good. Long, but had a lot of action. I'm currently binge watching Breaking Bad on Netflix. I'm on Episode 11, Season 2, so far so good. I'm interested in seeing Better Call Saul. I enjoyed it as it had a different theme to it compared to other standard horror movies.
  21. While Vanek was a good player back then, he plays on the wing. IMO, Quinn should have been smart enough to match a key position such as Center (meaning Drury or Briere). Dumb move on his part.
  22. If all of that is true, then it sounds like Golisano is to blame on all of it. I still blame Regier for not addressing the Center position after losing their two best centers.
  23. Regier does deserve some blame as he did not like to discuss contracts during the season. But I agree the majority of the blame goes to Golisano. Regier deserves the blame on the Vanek fiasco, he should have taken the draft picks. Oh well, the past is in the past. I'm liking the direction of the team now and I'm glad to see the team focus their attention on getting good centers over the past couple of years. Hopefully adding to the defense and hiring a defensive minded coach [Housley] is all that's needed to get the team over the hump.
