  1. it's been like this since i can remember. zero respect for the sabres. period. it's frustrating as hell listening to national coverage.
  2. i'm still all aflutter over that stafford/hartnell tangle. i seriously didn't know he had it in him.
  3. out of his class, eh? stafford held is own against hartnell. that was freakin' awesome.
  4. Milbury already being a complete ass. I swear, every time he speaks, I want to kill a puppy. "sabres need to be a whole lot better on the power play." well, wish granted, ass hole!
  5. The conference standings on the NHL Game Center app have the Sabres in 31st. That's just awesome. season is one day old, and they're already picking on them. :)
  6. someone also posted it on youtube. seriously awesome.
  7. will there be break dancing as well? ;) it'll be interesting to see how many B2B games other teams have when the full sked is released. weren't we near the top of B2B games last season? and the season before? which is why we got the 4 we did with the original sked for this season?
  8. THIS. PCP is nice, but it's not mandatory. any clinic can diagnose you. :bag:
  9. And iOS. Though if GC is free, Apple TV box owners should be able to stream any game ...
  10. if only he were a kid. at least then he'd have an excuse. this guy is like 64 or 65. grumpy-gus-co-worker. erg.
  11. what ...? IT'S THE LAW, MAN! well, if they won't cover it, do you at least have health insurance that'll cover a doctor's visit? i pulled my back trying to drag a washing machine up from the basement a couple of weeks ago. seriously wrenched my lower lumbar area. went to the doc, they said that i really should be lying down for like 2 weeks, alternating ice packs and heat. they also prescribed some pretty heavy-hitting pain killers. thankfully, i have a severely low-key job (tech writer. i sit at a desk pretty much all day.), so i don't strain my back much at all, but still ... it's not lying down and resting. yah, that's kind of like this guy. contributets nothing of real value, doesn't learn from any kind of peer reviews, swears that his way is absolute and everyone else's is wrong ... yet his manuals are constantly being used as the "less effective" method of writing. and it's from a simple lack of paying attention. i've sat in meetings with him where HIS OWN DOCS are being reviewed, and he took maybe 3 lines of notes. when mine are being reviewed, i burn through pens--not paper. i have notes spanning notebooks from my reviews. this guy ... ugh. he thinks that he's going to get some kind of severence package when the request for voluntary retirement comes up later this year. he's in full DGAS mode ("don't give a ..."), which basically sums up his entire "professional" career. no pride in his product. just "gimme a paycheck" mentality.
  12. This one has been festering for about 5 months, but this last week, it's come to a head. There's this guy I work with--we'll call him "Grumpy Co-Worker"--who feels that it's okay to stop by my desk several times a day and regale me with stories of how he was the ONLY guy who hasn't had a document rejected by one of our main clients. He also likes to gripe that the project he and I are working on has the most nit-picky program engineer that he's ever had to work with. Regardless of how many times I've told him that it's GOOD that this guy is being so nit-picky because ultimately it will make every document we produce going forward a better product, he just doesn't get it. Or listen. Or care. "I'm 3 months away from retirement. This place means less and less to me every day." This week, he's decided that coming over on my lunch hour and chirping at me the entire hour is acceptable. I've tried being subtle by getting up, going to the bathroom, refilling my 100 oz water mug, going to the cafeteria ... every time I come back from wherever, he stops by when he hears me at my cube. I'm to the point where I'm going to have to be brutally blunt and just tell him that my lunch hour is MY time--leave me the hell alone. But that probably won't sink in either. Since it occurred at work, doesn't that qualify for work comp? I'd tell someone about it. They're legally obligated to get you the treatment you need!
  13. i don't suppose anyone has a copy of the sabres/red army game from 1989 ...? some guy on HFBoards has a dvd of it. now THAT i would like to see, since i was at that game.
  14. This day is getting ridiculously awsome. Hackett, now Pettine ... AND I remembered to zip up my jeans before I left the house. I'm liking the feel of the day ...
  15. completely agree with 26CB. the bills need someone with a completely fresh set of eyes. he's an experienced coach, and he has some (though brief) NFL playing time. he has a championship under his belt with syracuse. not a BIG bowl game, but whatever. he's been the OC for the saints. the man isn't a rookie in the NFL. and with what the bills have on the roster, he could do some great things. before we crucify him for being the bills' coach, let's give the man a chance, eh?
  16. If you haven't already watched it, I'd *highly* recommend Breaking Bad. I started it Christmas day and finished season 4 on Tuesday. It's very much worth the time.
  17. for the nerdist in all of us: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/31/comet-coming-in-2013-ison_n_2388685.html
  18. WTF man!? At least they waited until AFTER Christmas. I'll give them points for that, but it's still crappy. Hope one of the other jobs pans out soon.
  19. Yes had a great song on their 1994 CD about Ankor Wat. Then again, that whole CD was really good. Are you going to go over the bridge ...?
  20. Getting the flu on Christmas Eve. Barely having the strength to get up Christmas morning to watch my girls tear through their presents. Crawling back to bed at 9:30 am, waking up at 5:30 pm to find the house silent, empty, messy, and dark. Wife took the kids to her parents' place. My Christmas meal consisted of soda crackers and ibuprofen. There *is* a bright spot: yah, they left, but ... not sad; kinda glad. iPad. Breaking Bad. Show's rad just a tad.
