DOGE is not about efficiency. https://www.npr.org/2025/04/15/nx-s1-5355896/doge-nlrb-elon-musk-spacex-security "The new revelations about DOGE's activities at the labor agency come from a whistleblower in the IT department of the NLRB, who disclosed his concerns to Congress and the U.S. Office of Special Counsel in a detailed report that was then provided to NPR. Meanwhile, his attempts to raise concerns internally within the NLRB preceded someone "physically taping a threatening note" to his door that included sensitive personal information and overhead photos of him walking his dog that appeared to be taken with a drone, according to a cover letter attached to his disclosure filed by his attorney, Andrew Bakaj of the nonprofit Whistleblower Aid."

Looking at something else I found this from January. https://thehockeywriters.com/nhl-farm-system-rankings/ "Savoie immediately became the Oilers’ top prospect (by a good margin), and I think he’ll prove the Sabres foolish pretty quickly. He’s a highly creative forward with a high-end skill set. The combination of speed, hands and stick handling makes him an offensive catalyst and he maintains offensive zone possession extremely well. Savoie has excellent vision to spot a lane to engage or find his teammates with a perfectly executed pass and he’s a dynamic skater as well. He is producing at the AHL level so far this season, leading all U21 players in scoring at the time of writing." "they’ve (Sabres) also seen a few of their most important prospects underperform this season such as Noah Ostend and Devon Levi." (yes they spelled Östlund wrong, I copied directly) A couple of things. First Savoie does not maintain zone possession extremely well unless skating with the puck around the perimeter is extremely well. Second, while this was written in January, I think it is safe to check on Östlund and Savoie these days. Savoie: 18g, 32a, 50pts in 64games or 0.78ppg Östlund: 19g, 17a, 36pts in 44games or 0.82ppg

Actually they don't. Wheeler put them 11th which is at or near the middle. Further to your point about stars, the Wheeler ranking says "none of their five top guys project to be true top-of-the-lineup types." https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5919859/2025/01/08/nhl-prospects-rankings-2025/ Elite Prospect who I trust more put Buffalo at 16th which is literally the middle. https://www.eliteprospects.com/news/prospect-pool-rankings/ep-rinkside-2024-nhl-prospect-pool-rankings-no-16-ranked-buffalo-sabres

Adams did just that
-
They wanted to move up so yes, it is better planning for them.
-
Which is an example of bad planning by Adams.
-
I like Helenius. He played in a harder league than either player this past season.
-
That's because Terry never talks about anything, ever.

Do you believe the Sabres will make the playoffs in 2026?

To that I would say, feel free to wait until summer or to change your vote if things change. I think that is fair. -
