  1. Which brings me to this. Also he leaves out in the quoted part "is he trying to snuff out Christianity" This is the modern gop. Convince their base that doctors, scientists, teachers, and everyone not "Christian" is out to get them. Want proof? Tucker if siding with vladimir putin, a guy who literally kills his opponents, because he wants to cast anyone left of his opinions as evil. Why? Because it makes Tucker money and because this dipshit trust fund baby is pro far right extremism. Here he's doing his tried and true method of attack, asking ***** questions to distract and enrage. He'll then hide behind that to act as though he's an innocent and legitimate person.
  2. I like the idea of chaotic good but imo that comes in the form of someone creating chaos in the offensive zone with their creativity while not really following a set structure, Jeff Skinner is like that imo.
  3. Georgiev doesn't seem to be that good though.
  4. Please do not take this wrong way because I am not trying to provoke and I do not feel this way. I don't like the use of emergency act because you are right it sets a dangerous precedent and it can erode rights. With that said, no one in the Western World is laughing at Canada because Canada isn't the biggest player on the stage and there is a bigger drama unfolding elsewhere.
  5. If you don't think the conservatives in Canada would do the same thing if they could or worse, you haven't been paying attention to American politics. Political parties are opposite sides of the same power hungry coin. You should vote based on more than 1 issue. Your call though, I don't agree with your darkest day comment. If Trudeau forces the act reauthorized and starts using it's powers to oppress ppl than sure but if 4 years of Trump taught me anything is that sometimes the worse does not come to pass in all situations... and other times it really does.
  6. Honestly I was trying to keep it light but that did not work.
  7. Speaking of maturity, this is how we started. Also when you rebut any of what ROR did the SECOND he left this team, we will have something to discuss. But again, a Selke, Conn Smythe, Cup winner "didn't make an impact" in regards to making a team a playoff team is a hell of a hill do die on. You want to talk about how he had the wrong attitude here or the supporting cast or coaching sucked, I am all for it. But to claim that ROR didn't impact the team and then to get so bent out of shape over a gif is just strange. Also I like the tactic you are using here. Accuse me of being immature, attack me personally, and then act as though you are a victim. It's a great playbook someone else recently used it around here too. Saying ROR did not make "a significant impact on making the team even close to a playoff team" is just a hard statement to really uphold and all my initial comment was on was that we can't really say that. There isn't anything to argue you about, we can't say that but probably other factors were the reasons ROR's contribution were not enough to get this team to the playoffs.
  8. No I am not and I stopped reading there. I am trying to illustrate what the cost could be if we want to get aggressive this offseason to improve things. As others have noted there can be good cheaper options pop open but it will really depend. If we want to talk about distorting and exaggerating... let's start here. Again, you have to be careful because we don't know if Johnson is better than Samuelsson. It's just a more delicate and nuanced conversation than "Kevyn Adams has to do something more aggressive this offseason" because he actually does not depending on the market.
  9. Like the Bills should have with 13 seconds left.
  10. I was trying to post faster than @brawndo and it is hard
  11. Buchnevich would be another player traded on the cheap who is good. Looking around there is maybe 1-2 of these a summer so you can get lucky, I just think it is a hard ask.
  12. Bennett is an outlier and they are hard to find. We found one in Tage but typically 24 and 25 years don't suddenly produce on those tiers. That said, you are 100% right and if such a deal as that presented itself, I would be in favor of it. I think those deals are exceedingly difficult to find.
  13. Not sure I agree with you on this. At what point does a protestor's right to protest and my right's to move about my city freely overlap?
  14. I am all for supplements as long as we are exceedingly careful in how we acquire them.
  15. What did it take the Sabres to Acquire ROR, Kane, and Bogo (so two top 9 forwards and 1 top 6 defender)? ROR: Zadorov, Grigorenko, Compher, 2nd round pick 2022 equivalent: Samuelsson, Poltapov, Quinn? Nadeau maybe instead, 2nd Kane + BOGO: Lemieux, Armia, Stafford, Myers, and a 1st 2022 equivalent: Rosen, Peterka, Olofsson, Jokiharju? Ryan Johnson?, and a 1st Do I think it is worth doing that even if we get players without all the baggage... not at this time. Next year maybe and we could get lucky and Adams could find a Skinner like deal this summer and that is what he should look for. I don't have a problem with getting better but with the cost that ppl seem to not be discussing when you trade for an impact player in todays NHL.
  16. Yes it is. You want to trade draft picks and young assets (you may try to hide this part but the old assets aren't worth anything). That's a bad way to build a team. If I though we could trade Vegas' first for a player under 23 that has top 6 potential I would do it, the issue is and everyone on here seems to ignore it repeatedly for some reason, is that the cost isn't just that 1st round pick. You are talking a top prospect like JJ Peterka, that 1st, plus something else to acquire that player. I don't think that is worth it considering where this team is in its rebuild cycle.
  17. I mean this is something you could say. ROR was on the team for 2015/16, 2016/17, and 2017/18 seasons. 2016: 81pts 2017: 78pts 2018: 62pts last year of ROR 2019: 76pts 2020: 68pts I mean... if that says "considerably better the year he left" then I guess so. We just have to ignore the other years and context but sure we can say that. Odd though that 2 of 3 years were better than the best year since ROR left. It is just crazy to waltz around here saying the Conn Smythe, Stanley Cup, Norris Selke Winning ROR doesn't make a difference to a team. That's bonkers and I don't even like ROR. I don't have a narrative. And now I will only respond to you in Gif form just like @PerreaultForever
  18. Trading assets to accelerate a rebuild is a vastly different approach from draft and develop.
