I will try one more desperate time to say this. The Sabres are at least another full season away from the playoffs because they are young, they are still short on talent, and they need a steady pipeline of mature prospects graduating into the system. It sucks, I hate it. It is however the reality of the situation at hand and firing Granato after one season or firing Adams after 1 season (it is 1 season of him in charge), doesn't change those underlying facts. We either can keep drafting well and build up to what a playoff team is, or we can panic after one of the most predictable years and hit reset on the 3rd plan we have started and set ourselves back another 3-5 years... again.

If you're only counting wins as success you're simply measuring losses. Individual players are improving but again, not enough talent, eakin needs to go, young guns are inconsistent. It's why I don't think we make the playoffs again next season. Gotta keep building talent and experience because 1 line can't do it all for 82 games.

But again, a Selke, Conn Smythe, Cup winner "didn't make an impact" in regards to making a team a playoff team is a hell of a hill do die on. You want to talk about how he had the wrong attitude here or the supporting cast or coaching sucked, I am all for it. But to claim that ROR didn't impact the team and then to get so bent out of shape over a gif is just strange. Also I like the tactic you are using here. Saying ROR did not make "a significant impact on making the team even close to a playoff team" is just a hard statement to really uphold and all my initial comment was on was that we can't really say that. There isn't anything to argue you about, we can't say that but probably other factors were the reasons ROR's contribution were not enough to get this team to the playoffs.

No I am not and I stopped reading there. I am trying to illustrate what the cost could be if we want to get aggressive this offseason to improve things. As others have noted there can be good cheaper options pop open but it will really depend. If we want to talk about distorting and exaggerating... let's start here. Again, you have to be careful because we don't know if Johnson is better than Samuelsson.
