The idea for trading power isn't because he is terrible or useless, it's because I think within the Sabres system we can replace him and get a different feel on that defense. I'm sure power will get better but this team needs a injection and I think we can get that by trading power. I also think that Power is more expendable than other pieces. I also don't want him traded by Adams or for a pick and a prospect. Someone mentioned Will Smith, that's along the lines I'm thinking. A good young forward and a sweetener like a 2nd. Young being being 26 or less. Ik some will roll eyes and be like omg we're just staying younger but I don't think this team is anywhere close and it's trading young for young. Or, trade him straight up for Crosby.

I think Zach Benson is what you're describing. Tage doesn't go to the slot often enough and tends to take perimeter shots.

I think where I disagree is that the player has to be a center. You can drive play from the wing. I agree our top 6 is missing a piece and I'd prefer to add at center, I just don't know who or where that player is. It's a reason I started the Power thread. He's a player you could trade for a center.

Östlund allows Buffalo to deploy the lines better. It also gives you another center to flip with McLeod in certain situations. It's tactically flexible.

Results won't change until changes are made. They have maybe 2 weeks before the season is lost if they keep the pace of 2wins 4losses.

The Sabres should find a way to pry Nathan Gaucher out of Anaheim. He's the type of middle 6 player that we need developing. I'd be willing to send Quinn for Gaucher and a 2nd. Is that to rich? Maybe, Anaheim might bulk but they have forwards and we could add a rhd from the prospects to help. Obviously not Mrtka.

The team isn't good enough. We need more Benson and Doan types. I don't think Power is going to change his style enough and I think a 40-50pt defender of his size will have a lot of value around the league. If we move on, it hurts the defense but we could get a haul for him that might save the season. Is this premature? I don't think so but I think there will be a lot of varied opinions here.

Skinner is 6.4 next year. He's 4.4 this year.

I finally figured out my Tuch issue, motor. His motor runs hot and cold. Some shifts he skates hard and goes after pucks, others he kinda floats around the ice and really loves to glide with the puck on his stick. I was honestly shocked to see he's got 4pts on the season. He needs to be better, the entire team isn't good enough. Except Zach Benson, that dude is a joy.

I'm seriously starting to question Tuch and what he supposedly brings. We're 6 games in and I can't remember 1 play of his that was like "oh yea he's good". Maybe defensively he's been decent? Offensively, plays die on his stick and he doesn't win battles at anything close to an impressive rate. I'd trade Owen Power. I'd trade Jack Quinn. Maybe I'll regret that stance but Power doesn't play hockey in a style I like and Quinn seems incapable of recovering from his injury or playing at a better level.

Oh ***** you haven't heard? Geertsen protects our guys and helps them play tougher. He's some sort of magical unicorn who sucks at basically every aspect of nhl hockey but he's big and will drop the gloves so that makes us tough and hard to play against. Never mind he can't win puck battles, gets almost 0 ice time, and barely hits anyone because he's a lumbering turd. He's big! He might fight! Other teams fear him!
