This is the part that I have totally come around on because it is EXACTLY what this team needs and it would be every bit worth it. How long has it been that the Sabres have had ZERO identity to it. This move does every bit to the Sabres that the Mario Williams move will be doing for the Bills.

Well, I have pretty much come around 180 degrees after a few days to think about the Sabres and Doan. I got to thinking about what so many players on Buffalo said about the influence that Chris Drury gave them while he was here. To have that (plus more I believe) and for Doan to be here while the new core of this team starts to flourish, you really can't put a price tag on it. Not only have I come around on the idea, I have brought myself to a place where I am going to be flat out upset if they don't get him. I think the next couple years are going to be critical for the growth and maturity of this team and from what I have heard across the league, there is nobody you would want more than this leader.

His agent said 16th was not a deadline so I would expect Doan to wait until Phoenix has more clarity. I can't see him going anywhere but Phoenix or San Jose....

Well, Buffalo has officially made an offer. Apparently Rangers made a pretty serious one too....

16 teams inquired about Doan per agent and 4-5 teams have already made offers. It hink today or tomorow is when the decision will be made. Watch out for Detroit....

I see no reason to give up valuable assets to obtain a guy who has had trouble turning his head due to the severity of back pain. Fast forward to 2 years down the road when the Sabres may be a contender and then maybe - just maybe you think about it

Detroit is going to go after Doan pretty hard so I really think that a trade is the only way Sabres upgrade at Forward. Philly threw over 100 mill at Parise so thank goodness he ended up in the West.

Anyone else wondering if Ryan Miller is going to be on this team in 48 hours?

I really think there is a Kotalik type buyout in the works that is going to make the Nash thing happen.....Who the players the Sabres would send over right now is the question. My guess would be Stafford, Psyk, Sekera and Buffalo takes a buyout player. Seems hefty but hefty gets you a star and I would be fine with it.

Sabres are putting their final offer in so needs a little more time........ :unsure:

Never heard of him. Will he actually dress and kill people or is this just for emergencies like Lucic?

By the way, I was talking to a buddy who works for the NHL and he said that after the Lucic incident, Miller flat out said he wanted to be traded. Not sure if that has been discussed before but thought it was interesting. I knew there was a trade in the works with Anaheim (that fell through) but I did not know Miller asked to be traded. Why do I have a bad feeling about this upcoming season....

If they stay put, that #12 guy will be a Dman and I would be willing to bet that #21 pick will be D as well.

Unless Miller wants out, I don't want him as a piece of this trade. I think a fully healthy D corp and a healthy Miller go a long way to reaching the ultimate goal. Scramble whatever you want up front but leave the first line of defense along with Miller out of it.

There was nothing like it and I almost feel guilty seeing Further without the big man. What I wouldn't do for just one more show....
