Same story as last season, they start to get things interesting, a little pressure is on, and they can’t get it done.

As the talking heads on SportsCentre said also: "these players are young but have had a few seasons at the NHL level. They now know how the game is played at this level and unfortunately, it may fall back on the coaching". Not sure if it was Bieksa or Luke Gazdic etc. who mentioned that, but it is the truth. Also, it is the GM who filled the starting roster with all that youth and not enough vets if you want to play "the age of the team" card.
Wait….. Luke Gadzik is on a broadcast team? I thought all he could do is grunt and snort.

This seems to be about as close as they can get. Every time they get within a couple of games they screw it up.

Would love to see Sabres beat the Wings and Kane and make it harder for Detroit to get to playoffs. The measuring stick for Detroit picking up Kane was to make the playoffs. Just saying it would be nice.....
i was pretty agnostic about Kane to Buffalo, but if the Sabres did make an attempt to sign him and he chose Detroit because he liked the chances there better, I hope Detroit goes down in flames.
Not that he was necessarily wrong, though. LOL

I like to think back, before science, before we know what we know now. Can you imagine the anxiety and chaos that would happen if there was an earthquake, and then three days later the sun was blackened out?
I’m sure there are people, still, that believe the gods are pissed. I’m not sure that I don’t even believe that.
Some of them are serving in Congress currently and have commented on it already.

I would ask why the same NWS office has a forecast for next Friday for the city of Buffalo, but you conceded, so I won't.
Meteorologists aren't honest until they have to be. Tens of millions of people are looking to them. Kudos I guess for saying who the hell knows. But what about the other 364 days of the year?
Thry create “weather” forecasts, not “sky viewing “ forecasts. You are being unrealistic.

Remember what the carrot has always been going alllll the way back to Suffering. The franchise was not going to be about just making the playoffs. They were building and still are building a team that would perennially contend.
Don’t cha’know? It takes a perennial rebuild to create a perennial contender.

We're 48 hours out. There should be more certainty. You can't just say let's wait until noon on Monday and we'll have a better idea.
Lol you complain that the models can’t predict rain and you want them to predict density of cloud cover in a small area, during a small window of time?
I concede.

I'd say it's ruined if you can't see the event. Imagine paying to see the Sabres play in the dark. Wait...
Meanwhile Buffalo weather nerds are really going out on a limb.
"Cloud forecast during the Monday afternoon eclipse remains uncertain at this junction and may not even be fully known until just a few hours before the event starts."
Nate Silver says hello.
Is the jig completely up on "experts" yet?
As the older folk say, Just look out the window.
Wait….. wasn’t it just a couple of days ago the NWS was in the pockets of the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce?
I suspect most of this is you playing the grumpy old man character. You are asking meteorologists to predict when an area maybe 60 miles wide is going to have mid or low atmospheric elevations see water vapor condense into microdroplets around a -1hr time window, something their models are poorly tuned to predict given their emphasis on actually impactful predictive modeling.
Yes, if you want to know if it going to be party sunny within your viewing horizon around a specific, short period of time, your porch window is always going to be your most accurate tool.

Just checked my anticipated sky cover per the NWS. Things are trending the wrong way. And now they've gone from saying high-level clouds to saying mid-level clouds. Fingers crossed, I guess.
There's a cruel irony being teed up.
Because Buffalo.

Man, not even a lineup discussion today. The fanbase is more checked out than the team. Sad state.
No Greenway today. Nursing something.

Yikes that was 30 years ago. Time flies.
Back then, each existing club was permitted to protect one goaltender, five defensemen and nine forwards. 😯
What the Panthers did was a minor miracle. They were a 92 point team who got hot at the right time. If I’m not mistaken, the Panthers haven’t won a playoff series since that 1995 run until last year’s Cup final run.
That team had a lot of notoriety for having something like 10 or 12 former captains on its roster.
Tons of leadership. Huh? What a concept.

I'm ill informed on the topic so hopefully someone can enlighten me, but outside of Vegas.. have expansion teams been successful?
Florida Panthers lost in the Stanley Cup finals in their 3rd season.

I too would LIKE someone on the Sabres to have the ability to 'answer the bell' in those situations, but I don't care that much. There are some who lement fighting leaving the league and some who don't need it at all. Give me end to end hockey with goals, and I don't need it at all.
But it is what it is. I was watching the game last night and when the puck dropped, I didn't turn away form the TV. But for Rempe himself, something about him rubs me the wrong way. A couple of dirty hits, doesn't seem to be going out of his way to avoid them. Then he gets in fights...some are a draw, some he losses, and yet he seems to always want to skate by the opponents bench and say something or salute the crowd after a fight. Its like man, you got in a fight you didn't win...the reason you got in that fight is because you dirty hit someone, and after that fight you are going to go yapp at the opponents bench on the way off the ice? To me, not cool.
Rempe quickly embraced the Heel persona. The whole league is going to hate him in no time.
Reeves didn’t have a heel persona when the league was ripe with heavyweights. He was more a middleweight or light heavy and knew it wouldn’t do well. Since the heavyweight became extinct Reeves found he could get away with being an ass. Rempe is right there in his footsteps. He’d better learn to fight tactically soon cuz there are several guys that are more than willing and able to give him a beating.

If you asked me Pre-Seattle its a definite yes. But Seattle has shown me that teams quickly adjusted after the Vegas draft.

My yards backs to woods. We have mice and other critters to deal with. I have found a few mice getting into my garage, several times they got into my AC unit and ate wires, one time I found traces that indicate they got in the basement - had to fix their entry points and put traps out.
Solution: Feral and stray cats. The past few years cats have been on the prowl, they come from the same wooded area. I pick them up on my outdoor cameras and watch them on patrol. The result, no signs of mice anywhere. They avoid people and are hardly ever spotted during daylight.
I have seen four cats in total, three look to be feral but one has a collar and roams with them. No complaints from me regarding these cats.
They aren’t your cats, so they aren’t your responsibility. I don’t want my dog killing your daughter’s pet, and that is the gist of my complaint.

Peopel who let their cats roam the neighborhood.
My dog has an extremely high prey drive. She’s managed to get half a dozen squirrels and a woodchuck last Summer alone.
She’s almost caught 2 cats in the backyard as well. One particular cat keeps coming back occasionally. Last week (where was the complaint thread last week?) I let her out not realizing the cat was in our fully vinyl fenced backyard. Dog caught the cat in a corner and there was a brief altercation. Cat managed to uncorner itself and was able to escape under our fence gate. No idea if the cat was hurt or not. I hope not. She did get a good cut on the dog. Fortunately no vet needed to heal it up.Ive seen the cat in our backyard twice since. Apparently, lesson not learned.
I really, really don’t want someone’s pet to get hurt. Or worse. If you won’t keep your cat where it is safe and healthy, don’t own a ***** cat, please.

How close to the playoffs will the Sabres get this year?

Veteran leadership specifically. This is what you can expect when the team building focus is “don’t block the kids”.
If our roster changes for next season include Kulich, Rosen, Savoie, replacing our FA’s this will happen again next season.
