Ok, but who signed him to a 1 year deal via arbitration walking him to unrestricted free agency? Either lock up the player or trade him if he isn't in the plan. It's poor asset management. A common argument here is "it's not easy for KA to pick up a good goalie". Yes, because good GMs don't give them away for nothing.

I believe Ullmark felt he needed a personal change. I don't believe for a second that going from a perennial losing team (after one of their worst seasons) to one of the best teams in the league didn't factor into his decision making, especially when the good team shows they want you by offering more money not pinching pennies in arbitration. Not something someone would likely say to the press, and not a compelling personal story a league reporter may choose to focus on.

The rest is you reading something that he didn’t say.  It’s speculation.

I live in the Buffalo area. Lest you forget many places are far closer to Canada than they are across town.

I don't need to read about Fox news propaganda, I live in the areas where you see it happening and talk to people that are from the area about it.

I also go to Canada fairly frequently.

So you are getting the equivalent of American Social Security except far less than what Americans get?

As of right now when I retire, if I only earn the same and never increase my income, which likely will happen, I will be getting roughly $4900 thru Social Security a month.

I believe the "research" I did says the max benefit in Canada is like $1365 a month? Which when adjusted to American Dollars is more like $1011 or so as of today?

    Did I miss something?

    39 yrs at $160k income?

I‘m unsure which “he” you are speaking of, but either one had/has a starters job with the Sabres.

We don’t know exactly why Ulmark left. It could’ve been the death of his father. But, one thing is for sure. UPL could’ve also very well think he needs a change of scenery. One where he doesn’t have to put up with the Levi ball washing.

Ullmark told the world why he signed with Boston. Unless you think he was being deceitful, we know exactly why.  He left because after his father’s death he felt the need to change things in his life, including the team he played for.

I’m not saying Pegula didn’t make the choice, but don’t tell me Regier hadn’t made him aware of how The Hawks got both Kane and Toews, knowing there was a guy called McDavid in the class of ‘15.

Yes, the 2014 draft wasn’t great on paper, but the real prize was McDavid in 2015.

    The Hawks didn’t tank.

Perhaps, but they had gone the free agent way first, which got them nowhere.

So unless Pegula signed those guys himself, which I suppose is entirely possible, what other options did they have?

Perhaps? It was Darcy’s own words in a press conference. I don’t see how it can be questioned at all.

There can be no doubt that it was the owner that chose to liquidate and tank after the Leino and Ehrhoff signings failed.  And we also know it was the owner that chose to sign those two particular FAs in an attempt to have a flashy retool.  Darcy was doing as the new owner instructed.

I never said he wasn’t succesful, for a time.

However, I am saying that by the time he was fired, he hadn’t been succesful for a long time.

And that he was the guy behind the tank strategy. Like it or not.

“The owner will determine the extent of the rebuild “ is, I believe, an exact quote.

Darcy laid out options.  The owner chose the strategy.

The bridge design itself was fine, but the dolphins placed in the water to protect the piers from impact weren’t designed to handle the sheer size of modern day vessels compared to the ships in the 70s.

It doesn’t seem that bridge had any dolphins protecting the piers.  I haven’t seen any in any of the images I’ve seen so far.

I just stopped at a place for a sandwich and was immediately greeted on their radio by Megadeth followed up by Iron Maiden. How’s that for a very unexpected surprise?

    edit: And now Dio.

Michael Russo, the Wild beat reporter says the Wild might be considering trading Marco Rossi mainly because they don’t think he is big enough for their type of team.

He has 37 points as a rookie including 20 goals. Pals with Quinn.

He would be an ideal 3C for next year but then what is the cost and how many 5’9 forwards do they want. Would let Savoie and Östlund develop in Rochester.

I would offer Krebs+ or swapping 1st round picks with them or maybe Joker.

He is a very good two way hockey player just coming into his own.

If Rossi is too small for Minny’s system, WTF would they be interested in Krebs as a return?

You've triggered me. I just don't know if I have the strength to explain why.

In a nutshell can we focus on developing a team instead of discrete individuals? Can we get a coach whose chops aren't development and knows how to win enough games to make the freakin NHL playoffs?

I don't care what's best for Jack Quinn or Devon Levi.

The water isn't that cold around 48 easily survivable.

48 is not easily survivable.  Hypothermia in just a few minutes.  Numbness and loss of dexterity in the same time frame.   Add the shock on entry and drowning is much more likely than not.
