What contract do you think is right for Victor Olofsson?
Hank replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I don't mind that he's not physical but I would like him to forecheck and apply pressure on the D. He seems timid. I hope he's packaged for a needed upgrade. -
I'm developing a serious man-crush on the kid, won't be upset if we take him at nine.

Four years in I don't believe Dahiln needs mentoring. Not on the ice and certainly not off it. I don't believe Power needs mentoring either, but if he does Dahiln should be able to provide it. I have no interest in PK. In the words of Pi2000, "do better."

This may be the dumbest thing you've ever said. -

If he signs a one way deal he can't be sent down without clearing waivers? -
Preds in six. Colorado won't be physical enough.

Portillo thinks the Sabres offer a great opportunity
Hank replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
(3) opportunity to choose where you will live and work, and (4) quality of life outside the rink. -
I was not clear on that. Thank you.
-
Please correct me if my understanding of the following is wrong. If Portillo signs with the Sabres after next year's college season ends he signs a three year ELC. if he waits a few more months to sign with another team he only signs a two year ELC. regardless of the direction he chooses he'll be signing his second contract contract the same year. His option will be to forfeit a prorated salery/signing bonus for the option to choose where he wants to live and work.

People criminally undervalue the importance of this.

The commentary was unfortunate. I have no problem with what beagle did. The crosscheck wasn't vicious. Players poking at the puck under your goalie that type of crosscheck is pretty common in any hockey game. Fowler confronted him and Beagle pushed him off. Then Terry grabbed hold of him and Beagle started swinging. Didn't keep throwing punches after Terry went down. Terry just got his ass kicked. No problem with Beagle at all. If Dahlin did that this board would would be so exited they'd cream their pants and have a 36 page thread praising Dahlin's toughness.

I'm hoping it's Scotland, Wales scares me. England is in a dawn cycle, I think we should be able to advance out of this group.

Year one meaning when he enrolls in college or year one meaning post draft? I'm not sure what you're saying.
-
So it's your belief that if Portillo played three years of ushl before enrolling in Michigan that Buffalo would have seven years to decide if they want to sign him?
-
Professional athletes weight training and eating right. Clutch them pearls!
-
It don't matter if he played three years in the in the ushl and would be a freshman next year or if he went straight to Michigan and was entering his senior season. Four years post Draft he's a UFA if he's not signed, where he played post draft is irrelevant.
-
So then it's correct that Portillo will become a UFA after one more year at Michigan.
-
Maybe the rule is four years post draft, not necessarily four NCAA years post draft? He needs to be signed.
-
He played a year in ushl after his draft year before going to Michigan? If so, was he not eligible to go to college when he played ushl?
