Developing the Center Spine (Cozens v. Krebs)
thewookie1 replied to DarthEbriate's topic in The Aud Club
That was very well done -
Part of me thinks Dahlin’s temper this year is going nuts because he is the captain now and his ship more or less goes askew at the slightest bump. If I passionately tried to rally my teammates in the locker room and then they go and do whatever the hell that 2nd and 3rd were I too would completely lose it eventually. Frankly he’s also probably a bit torn simultaneously since he’s great friends with most of, if not, the entire team and any action he might take in requesting assistance would cost players he’s played with for almost 6 years to be moved.

***** Detroit is taking their hot streak turn, 6 Ws in a row.

Actually 3 or 4 were straight on staring at the target the puck just dying a foot or two past the stick -

UPL with the shutout Ottawa seemed to want to mix it up constantly and Gilbert kept saying bring it and they’d run away. (Benson doesn’t even need anyone around to try and stir up something lol) Puck kept dying on the ice in the 3rd in the Ottawa end. I counted about 6 or 7 pucks that just seemed to die after an attempted shorter pass. The Peterka one that led to a SH breakaway being one, two times by Benson and a stick handling move by Quinn after one of them. Aside that they played fine in the 3rd but need to tighten it up a bit better. -

Ottawa are just a bunch of embellishing attackers that turtle at the slightest bite back. -
…… Many teams target players who have great playoffs the year prior to their detriment; that isn’t a Buffalo only thing. Pegula wouldn’t pay ROR’s bonus but Botts was the one who started shopping him halfway through that season. Eichel asked to leave before his whole surgery situation. It’s not to say Pegula is a great owner but he could worlds worse

Are we going to play this "in the hunt" game again?

At the rate the league is going we won’t need 90 pts lol. I sure is he’ll wouldn’t bet on it but if we were to string a few 3-1-1 streaks together we’d be right back into the mix barring someone actually deciding to run away with WC2 -

I'll just shrug and say who knows; this season has seen a Stanley Cup favorite dive bomb, a Capitals team go from accidently making the playoffs last year to leading the East and each of Buffalo, Ottawa, Montreal and Detroit have taken a turn as the 8 seed. Who the hell knows at this point. -
Is "accountability" even possible in the Sabres organization?

Apparently Adams wanted to do some roster overhauling and Eichel demanded a trade. Adams and Krueger decided to try and fix this situation by signing Hall to 7mil and acquiring Eric Staal since his playoff performance had been solid the previous year. Effectively the idea being, look we are willing to try and win. However Eichel gets hurt prior to training camp and then proceeds to herniate a disc within the first month essentially. Eichel who had already requested a trade; no longer had the support of the owner and thus upon asking for a surgery that have had numerous insurance issues balked at the idea entirely when the highly respected spine doctor on staff said no to the idea. At that point any kind of reconciliation was dead, had Eichel played out the year healthy and we had some success he may have rescinded his request but now it turned into a disaster. The team spiraled, medical circumstances were suddenly a nightmare and the season went from can we convince Eichel to stay to well if you won’t play ball then screw you. I firmly believe that had Eichel not requested a trade originally, Pegula would have signed off on the surgery without fuss. Pegula strikes me as the type who will always have your back if you have his; however if you even deviate in the slightest you are dead to him. ROR was the same, his “loss of love of the game” statement in combination with the whole Tim Horton’s saga made Pegula very willing to give Botterill “permission” to trade the most recent highest paid player in franchise history. However this permission also meant Pegula had zero interest in paying a dime to guy not playing here hence the bonus issue. Pegula doesn’t see the bigger picture more he looks entirely at each tree and if that tree struggles he’ll throw money at it. However if that tree drops a branch on his car his money faucet is quite literal welded shut. -
Remember that his JR team left Winnipeg for Portland?? I believe and hired a new coach. Savoie was traded so maybe we force them to trade Benson but that wasn't a sure thing. As for the World Juniors, Canada hates small players as well as anyone who might steal the spotlight from their newest wonderkind

I liked the Erik Johnson idea as a 7, but when it failed he needed to go out and get a more legit one this year with more tread on the tires. Hell grab Alec Martinez who was a shot block man on Vegas's bottom pair and had 3 rings for the bottom pair. Trade for Marino There were some options beyond sign Gilbert and pray.

To be honest it would mask his inexperience but could also help him learn in-game.

Frankly I still don’t think Benson would have gained much of anything by staying in JRs. He would have been more likely to pick up bad habits by figuring out shortcuts to his game and the like. This is why I beat the drum about how asinine the CHL rule is because Benson belonged in the AHL last year learning Pro-hockey against other professionals. I agree though on needing more vets to help insulate the youngsters.
