That's why he's become scary to me; his errors don't tend to be physical issues but rather IQ issues.

Barring Levi channeling Hasek, it'd be a 1 sided Sabres series that goes 4-0. In that rare chance Levi stands on his head and plays otherworldly, I'll give them 1 win which still has the Sabres winning 4-1. (Effectively the only position that could theoretically give the AHL team any prayer at winning a game much less a series falls upon the goalie who could be nearly NHL caliber and or a young up incomer)

My only knock on that interpretation is that his positioning and 2way play has taken a huge hit this year for unknown reasons. It doesn't require peak physical shape to not venture out of position or lose a guy entirely in coverage. Benson is a perfect example, as was Quinn previously, of what Quinn should look like in theory. Struggling to score but having an active stick and rarely making serious gaffes.

+/- is a bad stat in smaller numbers; the more pronounced it is, either direction, the more it actually holds weight For instance between -5 and +5 is practically a wash; you can literally have nothing to do with a play and get dinged or rewarded. The likelihood of that happening 20 times against you more than the opposite however says something may be wrong

I'm just trying to find a savvy vet to help Power and relieve Dahlin of some of the many jobs he's tasked to do. HIs contract is a bit steep though so that may not be a great idea.

Anyone have knowledge on Kris Letang’s downfall? Could we get him cheaply to be a vet RHD for Power to learn from?

Get a franchise QB, well you’ll be blocked by an even better QB who you actually traded them in essence. Acquire good players, well they either get hurt or fall off a cliff. It just gets old

As per always, the Sabres are screwed by both themselves and the league as a whole. We all know their shortcomings but the league itself changed thus dooming us. When the Sabres first went into the tank in 2012, we weren't alone in the strategy being used. While we took it far further than most, it was common practice for teams to trade pending UFAs for prospects and picks when they were bad and then in the offseason you could take those prospects and picks and either use them straight up or potentially spin them to another team looking to retool. Effectively you could trade $1 for 4 Quarters at the deadline and then use those 4 Quarters for a different $1 in the offseason if you so desired. Nowadays that no longer works for us at the very least. We can acquire all the money in the world (in assets) but when we go to buy everyone inflates their prices absurdly and/or closes up shop on useful pieces. As such we are trapped in a hold and wait pattern trying to make Hockey Trades because we can't exchange 4 Quarters for $1 any more and are stuck offering $1 for $1 type trades.

Why would we care what they want; we have zero reason to trade Tuch. Hell he’s one of the few bright spots this team still has.

The scariest part of 7D is that Byram looks scatterbrained when with anyone aside Dahlin. Makes me concerned about Byram’s value
